I am the soul owner of this vehicle which I purchased new in December 01 as a 02 model.It has been driven mostly for commuting every day for 11 years on the rotten Chicago roads in harsh winter and summer conditions, never been garaged, it has some rust but nothing drastic, it has been involved in 3 under 10 mph fender benders plus one frontal collision with a raccoon, a few months ago, someone reversed into it while it was parked hence the bid dent in the rear driver side quarter panel.It was dealer maintained until 100k which does not mean anything other than them hanging unnecessary parts, since then and quite recently, I have replaced the 4 O2 sensors, the 2 camshaft sensors, the oil separator, the valve cover gasket, I have rebuild the vanos pistons with upgraded o-rings, I replaced the clutch 12k ago with a single mass flywheel for more positive feel, the rear suspensions are new, shocks and springs, the front ones need struts and bushings, the battery is brand new, the brakes are new all around, this includes calipers, rotors and pads, the engine need to have the valve stem seals replaced, it is starting to use more oil than it should, I am still driving this car every day on my 45 miles round trip to and back from work, this car has a lot of new parts and is worth fixing, or, it can be purchased for parts, but, this would be a shame in a sens. On Jul-12-12 at 05:20:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Attention all potential bidders, do not expect your pristine weekend driven only bmw, this car is a fixer, a mechanic's special or for parts, this car has been used a lot and driven daily for the past 11 years, it still has great potential, it is after all a bmw, and it is a rare 5 speed wagon with the sports package, very hard to come by, the reserve is very low for a car this age, I am selling it because I wanted to go back to a 4 cylinder engine, I purchased an 87 saab 900 turbo and do not want 3 cars in my driveway, so, it has to go.
