Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this sweet 1970 Dodge Charger. The car had 70k original miles on it when it was overhauled in 1990. It now has a little over 86000 miles, so only 16000 has been put on since it's restoration 20 years ago. It has had a TON of money thrown at it over the years. It was completely restored in 1990 and there are TONS of receipts on a book with the build of this car. It was originally a factory 383 4 barrel FC7 plum crazy purple car!! It is now Bright yellow, with black racing stripe, looks very similar to a dirty mary crazy larry clone, only a 70 instead of a 69. The 440 magnum was completely balanced and blueprinted and was almost $4000 alone. It only has 16000 since it was installed back in 1990. It is backed by a 18 spline Hemi 4 speed and 4.10 Dana 60 rear end. You just don't get much better than that! This car is a BLAST to drive down the highway, it will flat get it banging through the gears! The motor still runs like a top, and has 75 psi oil pressure and 50-60 while driving. It runs 190 all day long, it is a BEAST to drive!!! The charger does have power steering and power brakes, but due to the cam in the engine(it's wicked) it takes a lot of vacuum so the brakes take some getting used to. They work fine but you have to "stand" on them lol. The interior was completely redone back in the day to the tune of $1500 bucks. NOT CHEAP for this era. It is typical custom late 80's velour and it is SO comfortable!! The seats still look brand new nd are so plush. the upper pads, door panels, seats, headliner, everything was done in this material. The gauges work including the gas gauge. It has a custom shifter that took me some getting used to, but is really fun to row through the gears in! The body is still holding up very well considering when this car was redone. The paint still shines great for the age, and only has minor paint chips and flaws. The body of course had some filler used as any car would have in 1990. The trunk was patched as was the driver's floor pan. There is no rust on the car, very few bubbles popping up down low by rockers/quarters. The frame rails are mint front to back, battery is in trunk along with original wheel covers, car cover etc. The vinyl top still looks brand new. The wheels and tires are in excellent shape and are typical early 90's american racing vintage. The headlights and bliners etc all work, but headlight doors must be turned by hand, i think the relay under dash is bad. Overall this is an old school classic you would be proud to drive and cruise in. I already have a purple 70 charger, and recently purchased a 70 purple cuda, that is the only reason i am selling. I will be listing this car with NO RESERVE. Please serious bidders only!! Please get your wife or dog or mother or whoever's permission you need PRIOR to bidding. Please feel free to ask with any questions. I reserve the right to end this auction early at any time for any reason as car is for sale locally. Thanks for looking and good luck!
