1972 Triumph Stag MkI, with original Triumph 3.0 V8, and 4 speed manual trans with A type overdrive. Excellent restoration candidate. This Stag was purchased in 2008 from a seller in Southern California and shipped to the previous owner in NY. He stripped the car for painting, but lost interest. I purchased the Stag in July 2009, and have it garaged near Philadelphia. The car was origianally white, but was painted metallic blue at some time. The interior looks original, but it appears that the seats may have been dyed. I believe the Stag to be mostly complete, however it is the buyers responsibility to view the car and verify all the trim pieces. I will gladly answer any questions or verify the existence of particular parts. I will be able to show the car or respond to questions on Friday and Saturday, July 6 and 7. The previous owner stated that the engine ran, but I have yet to start the engine. I am planning on turning the engine by hand this weekend, but with 83,000 miles on a Stag engine, you can expect that it needs rebuilt. I will update on my findings from this week end. On Jul-08-12 at 06:15:21 PDT, seller added the following information: The engine is free. Rocked the car while in 3rd gear and the the car moved about a foot. Mark on the front pulley verified that the engine had moved. Had previously removed six of the eight spark plugs and put oil in the cylinders. The plugs were pretty consistent with carbon on them but not overly fouled.
