Up for sale with no reserve is a 1996 F-150 Eddie Bauer extended cab 2WD, set up like a baja truck. YES - it's 2WD. I will NOT end the auction early - if you want it, BID!!! This truck has alot of small problems. I'm going to start off with the good, then the bad. The good. Solid truck from southern California - doesn't look like it had too many Ohio winters. I bought it from a guy who was in the navy (San Diego), bought it there and drove it to Ohio. He blew the engine up and i bought it off of him. I bought another donor truck that had 110,000 miles on it and installed the engine. After getting it running, it started boiling the water in the radiator violently & i thought it had a bad head gasket. I was wrong - it was just a bad thermostat. When replacing the head gaskets, i observed a VERY clean engine with absolutely no sludge. The engine runs smooth, but a check engine light is on & it idles a little high (maybe they're related). I put new spark plugs and a water pump in it when doing the work. I have only driven this truck for approximately 6 miles and it has good power and shifts through the gears smooth. The rear brake wheel cylinders were leaking and were replaced. Both fuel tanks work. The air conditioning blows cold. The electric windows work. The tires are in very good shape - i would say atleast 80 percent tread. The tire size is 33x12.50R15. It has a body lift on it and also a suspension lift by "superlift". The body lift is one which has spacers starting out a couple inches up front, then gradually get thinner as it gets toward the back of the truck, until finally, the last bolts in the bed have no spacers at all. It was intentionally made to be higher in the front, than the back - like a baja desert truck. (more suitable for California, than Ohio) The speedometer cluster in the back seat is from the donor vehicle - if you wanted it to see the mileage for yourself was 110,000 The bad. The interior is VERY dirty and has a bad odor. The seats are in decent condition and are not torn, but some of the plastic mouldings are cracked/broken - look closely at the photos. The drivers door sticks and needs a nudge to open - i think the striker bolt just needs adjusted, but i keep forgetting to try it. One of the front brakes is sticking (probably needs a caliper). The brake pedal sticks and you have to pull it back with your foot or the brake light stays on and drains the battery. It has alot of scratches and some rust, but is really a very solid truck. Look at the cab corners and above the rear fenders, where they usually rot out and this one isn't bad at all. I washed the truck & i noticed a small amount of water dripping down the top of the windshield inside the truck, so it probably needs to be pulled and new sealant put in. The aluminum wheels are very corroded. There are probably a few more things wrong with it that i am missing. This was not my truck, that i drove. I bought it, changed the engine, now i'm selling it, so understand that i'm not hiding anything - i just don't know much more about it because i never even got plates for it. The battery is NOT included - it's my battery that i put in, just to get it running. This is a NO RESERVE auction. Bid to own. Cash on pickup. Clear title on hand.
