Vehicle Detail
A deal like this doesn't come along very often and although it is a result of someone’s misfortune it does provide a great opportunity for you to obtain a terrific project car at a fire sale price. This 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan was purchased in running condition in 2005. A video of it at the time of purchase can be seen on YouTube at “My 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan”. The car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, a Wonder-bar radio, a 4-way power seat and fender skirts. Photos of the vehicle as purchased and in its current state are included here. A more extensive collection photos can be seen on a YouTube slide show at “1956 Ford Project Car Photos”. The current owner’s husband intended to do a full restoration and had slowly begun to disassemble the vehicle and acquire new parts. When the owner died unexpectedly the project came to a halt and the vehicle is now for sale. The major things that were done until the project stopped include the following: 1) The engine was professionally rebuilt in Escondido, CA (2009), most of the auxiliary engine parts were cleaned and painted and a new oil pump and fuel pump were purchased. 2) A brake job was done on the car (2006). 3) A used dash was purchased (in primer). 4) A replacement inner fender was purchased. 5) Numerous miscellaneous restoration parts were purchased including shocks, tie rod ends and a carpet kit. Receipts have not been found except for the original purchase ($10,000), the engine rebuild ($2300.) and some limited miscellaneous parts. An original Owner’s Manual and other scarce documents are included in the sale (see photos). The owner intended to replace the automatic transmission with a manual transmission and had purchased a new clutch, a manual transmission and manual pedal assembly. Both transmissions are included in the sale of the vehicle. The owner repaired the original radio and it is in working condition. The vehicle is in excellent shape with some minor surface rust. The body is straight with few noticeable flaws. Notable exceptions to this are documented in close-up photos. Virtually all of the stainless steel trim is in excellent condition as are the bumpers. The glass is in excellent condition. Very little body repair will be required to finish this project. As far as we can tell there are no major missing parts, although a new wiring harness will be needed. The engine casting numbers are: ECZ 9425-A, ECZ-C & ECZ 6015-A which indicates a 292 with a 4 bbl. This matches the body plate designation. The serial number is M6PT118091. There is a close-up photo of the body plate. The vehicle is sitting on its wheels and can be winched onto a trailer. The engine will be sold on the engine stand. Most of the other parts, except the large parts, are in boxes and can easily be moved. Loading and shipping are the responsibility of the buyer but the seller will assist as much as possible. Now for the disclaimers: We have tried our best to represent the vehicle and its parts as accurately as possible. If you have any questions or need additional photos please contact the seller. There may be mistakes in our information and we may not have identified some missing parts. The contact and listing person is not familiar with the vehicle and was not involved in the purchase or disassembly but is assisting the owner in disposing of the vehicle.
