This car has had two owners, the current owner is my business partners mother, a 60 something mother of 3 here in Phoenix, Arizona. She has had the car since 88 or 89 and it has spent all of the time she has owned it, garaged in Phoenix. I assume the car was in Arizona for its first two years but I did not verify this, nor do I think it is of much importance in this context. Let me be clear, this is not some trade in/auction junker, it has been her daily driver this whole time. The car has been serviced since the manufacturers warranty expired by Marc at German Auto, Marc knows the car well and he can be reached at his shop if you are really serious. I would please ask that only those who really need to talk to him do so, he is a busy guy. I have a huge stack of records from German Auto dating back many years. To the very, very best of my knowledge and the owner's, the car has never been wrecked or painted on. So, what we have here is the most desirable of the old SL type since it is a 560, it is the most desirable color, white with tan, and it has lived its life in Arizona, and it is offered with no reserve. This would make the perfect platform for a SL restoration, proper history, right climate, best colors, right engine, no damage, driven by female adult and serviced by the best we have in Phoenix. Make no mistake, in my opinion this car is a candidate for restoration. Whether you freshen it up for a weekend convertible cruiser, or go all the way is up to you. The car runs and drives but is in need of an engine refresh. I am happy to let you have the car checked out at your expense and am happy to chat on the phone if you want to ask some more questions.
