Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1966 Ford Mustang. I hate to part ways with this car, but I am moving to Germany in two months and upon my return I will be living in the city. I would hate to see this car sit and fall to pieces when it has such great potential. I spent countless hours waiting tables through college to buy this car, some of the new parts you can see in the pictures, as well as many more parts you don't see in the pictures. I used to own two 66 Mustangs, but this one had the most potential so the other basically became an "organ donor" for this one. Thus, you will receive two of many parts. YOU get to choose which you want to put on the car, then you can either sell the extras for money or you can keep them just in case you ever need them. I will try to be as descriptive as possible here. Please read CAREFULLY because I will not answer questions that I've already answered. You are bidding on a car that WILL be an awesome daily driver. It isn't going to be "showroom quality", but it will make someone very happy. This is a GREAT GREAT GREAT project car. The body is in good condition. My brother and father have painstakingly sanded most of the surface rust the vehicle had when I purchased it. What we basically have here is a grown-mans jigsaw puzzle. The only pieces that don't come in the box are the electrical work (sorry, my dad is a mechanic, not an electrician), a new paint job,a new gas tank, a carpet kit, and it could use a new hood. I'll give you the car's current hood, but if I were you I would want a new one....if you're an excellent metal worker or know someone who is then it could potentially be saved. Also, I realized after I posted the pictures that I did not take a single picture with the car's glass. YES! I do indeed have all of the glass for this car. As a matter of fact you will get TWO of EVERY window EXCEPT the front windshield (You'll only get one of those). The windshield looks so good it could be mistaken for new glass. It's amazing how well things were made back then. BRAND NEW Parts You will Receive: -Left/Right side view mirrors (chrome) -Rear View Mirror Bracket (chrome) -"Nite/Day" style rear view mirror (chrome) -Front Bumper/Rear Bumper (These have seen the light of day outside of their boxes twice.....once the day I bought them, and a few days ago when I took the picture. Good luck finding a fingerprint let alone a scratch on these) -Front/Rear Bumper guards -Bumper bolt kit/ front bumper guard mounting kit/ rear bumper guard mounting kit. -Driver/Passenger side window cranks (Chrome of course) -Rear Window Weatherstrip -Windshield weatherstrip -Trunk Weatherstrip - Packets of miscellaneous rubber plugs and parts (PLEASE keep this car plugged up. The only truly necessary rubber that we know is missing is the rubber for around the doors. However, this is very cheap to replace) -Black Headliner (still in the packaging) -Headliner roof insulation -Black dashpad -2 rear tires (with stickers still on the tread) Good Condition Parts you will receive: -2 dash speaker grills; both look good, one is in slightly better condition -2 Front Grills with running horse ornaments attached. Both of the ornaments have little to no pitting. -2 instrument clusters. The first is black, the original to the car, and man does it look SHARP! The other is beige/wood with the front basically peeled off. We only kept the second cluster because my dad left the wires attached to it to serve as a guide for whoever does the electrical work when installing the black one. -Original Black chrome glove box....here is another part I am amazed held up so well over the years. Only has some minor pitting and the red/white/blue paint on the mustang emblem could use some fixing up. -2 sets of all glass except the windshield -Original Pony "running horse" rear seat. This thing is a MUST SEE! I have never seen this type of rear seat for sale....whether it be in a used lot, an auction, or a show, so I'd like to think this is quite a find. It really gives the car character. One tiny hole can be seen in the pictures. I have placed a dime next to the hole to show you how small it is. Throw some Armour All on this baby and it shines really nice. NO, the leather is not dry and hopeless! -Motor and transmission -Emblems for a 289 motor. NO, this car does not have a 289. I believe the owner before me had every intention of putting one in, but he passed away in 2005. -The front two tires on the car are okay....they aren't brand new, but they also aren't rotted through. Still have some tread. Great for pushing in and out of the garage! My dad has also spent about $150 seam sealing under the hood of this Mustang. He tells me it still has the wiring harness as well. IF YOU HAVE THE TALENT to turn an automatic into a manual, we have a brake/clutch assembly that is yours by all means! Now to answer the MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION!! How about that Title? As I already mentioned, the Title is in the name of a gentleman that died in 2005. I wanted to have this Mustang deemed a "Certified Classic Auto" by the North Carolina DMV, so I have been careful to make sure I have ALL of the proper paperwork so this Title could one day be put in my name. Now, I will hand off that paperwork to you, and you can have it put in your name. "What paperwork?" you may be asking.....well, let's just say I had to make an awkward phone call to this man's widow asking her to go to her local courthouse (in VIRGINIA) for a paper stating that she is in control of her late husband's estate and that the car was in fact sold, not stolen. This document also has an official seal from the courthouse. You should have no problems with the title transfer. AND NOW THE ANSWER TO THE TWO MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION!!!! DOES IT RUN?! The best I can give you is a yes/no answer. The engine needs a new gas tank...that's basically a given in most 66 Mustangs you find. The tank rusts out easily. This part is about $80 from a restoration dealer in Charlotte, NC. However, my dad says if he "feeds" the engine gas manually he can get it to start up. So No, when you buy this car you will not drive it away into the sunset. But Yes, get it a gas tank, and you're almost there!! HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS?! Feel free to ask! ohhhh, and you may have noticed in the pictures, some of the parts have been primed a light pink color. Sorry, but I wanted a pink car. At least it helps prevent new surface rust until you choose a final color for it!
