Vehicle Detail
Wow, I don't think I have ever seen another of these, pretty rare in these parts at least. I wish I had more space and time to keep this, but I don't. I just bought this from the son of the local long term owner (40 yrs) who recently past. It's been sitting for years in his dry garage. Decades ago it was his pride and joy, used in parades I'm told. But that was then---- Now it is a great piece to have some fun with, it's already been rodded a bit. 390, I think, with a Hurst floor shift and later model seats. Currently we have yet to find the keys (house was ransacked when he passed, son got legal possession though). He said "it always ran great". Well, the brakes are up, tires hold air fine, clutch feels fine and the engine does crank with compression when jumping the solenoid. We did not put fuel in the tank or try to hot wire it. I think it would be best to clean the tank and fuel system first before adding any gas. I simply have not the time to do this or to lie on my head and old aching back to figure out how to get the ignition switch out. Perhaps it's not so difficult but I have yet to go there. I don't think it would take much to get this thing fired up though. Well the body is definitely not virgin. Plenty of history. It has had some floor and bed work, and still has some rust in places. Certainly no where near terminal, great to have your way with it be a wild rod or just a fun cruiser as is. Frame appears solid. I tried to get some good photos underneath, have a look. It is mighty styling and rare. Low NADA is $12K (High $40!K). This can be had for way less than low NADA. When did you last see one? Windshield has a crack about in the middle but not in the line of sight, see photo. Driver's door was pried open at some point and cracked that glass, but it rolls up and down fine. Other glass is fine. It does appear pretty complete. I believe all of the trim is there! Lenses are all decent. Not broken. Chrome appears all original and is aged, but it's there to behold! I think someone could have a great time with this with out too much fuss. And boy it sure got the looks when I trailed it out. It is a good looking beast. Car is in Dayton, Ohio. Feel free to arrange a viewing, I always encourage a personal look- see if possible, Thanks for looking! HEY I just noticed that the photos are not large. I had a hard time loading them, crashed twice, and in the end I forgot to keep hitting the extra large choice. If you want some larger photos send me an email and I'll forward them.
