Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a very nice green “Ivy Glow” Ford LTD. A solid dependable car in overall very good condition, especially for its age. 151,000 miles in the 400 CID (6.6L) V8 which is teamed with the silky smooth C6 automatic. Car has been well maintained and the high mileage does not bother it. Engine runs very strong and does not burn oil and holds its fluids very well. Car rides like you are driving on Cream Puff Blvd. Newer tires and Die Hard battery. Tires are not a known name brand. Rear brakes are new, fronts have maybe 10 – 15,000 miles on them. Has PB PS but manual windows and locks. Original AM radio is in service. Heat, AC & all electrics work. Original finish really sparkles when you wash it! I have owned the car 10 years, I have not smoked in the car. This car is in very good condition, but it is 40 years old and for anyone contemplating buying it on the internet I am going to point out the flaws. Finish is nice and shiny, some of these pictures make it look like new, but it is (mostly) the original finish and there are blemishes, scratches and minor dings here and there when inspected closely. Touch up paint will be included. Pretty much no rust. Some rust restoration work was done about 10 years ago and is holding up very well, probably because the car was not driven in the winter. However there is rust forming on the driver side front door jamb. Interior is very good but there are a few areas in the front seat where the fabric is torn. Back seat looks almost like nobody has ever sat there. Original vinyl roof is a bit dry but looks nice when dressed with an Armor All type product. However some surface rust can be seen under the vinyl roof in a couple areas. Also there is an area on the passenger side where the vinyl roof appears to have been cut or scraped somehow. AC works good but is an R12 system utilizing R134A Freon. The result is in very hot weather (say 90 degrees) the AC is not as effective as it would be with R12. Also the system will probably have to be topped off with R134A every spring. Brakes have a nice solid feel, but the fronts squeak from time to time. At times (not often) there is some belt / pulley squeal. Car needs a front end alignment. This car is not EFI, it has a carburetor and on a cold start you set the automatic choke by pumping the gas pedal once then releasing. Then you start the car and let it warm up maybe 30 – 60 seconds and then drive. Warm starts turn the key and give it gas until it starts. Spark plugs have just been replaced, and although there are no performance issues, as a matter of prudence the ignition points and condenser should be replaced soon. I have added a lead substitute and an octane booster to every other tank of gas ever since I have owned it. There will be a full tank of gas upon delivery. Car sold as is. I would like a $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction closing. Pay pal is OK. Balance can be either Pay Pal, or Cash. No reserve so high bidder has bought themselves a Ford LTD! I will help if I can, but ultimately buyer is responsible for picking up the car in Jackson, Michigan. Car will be used as a daily driver until retrieved. I tried to give all details but please feel free to ask questions. And also thanks for looking! On Jun-23-12 at 16:05:10 PDT, seller added the following information:Regarding question, Is this a Ford LTD Crown Victoria? Answer: This is a 1972 Ford LTD, the large rear drive car Ford made in 1972. Beginning in 1983 this type of car was known as 'LTD Crown Victoria' and then in 1992 'LTD' was dropped leaving only the 'Crown Victoria' designation. For some reason e-bay does not have a 'Ford LTD' category, but they do have a 'Ford Crown Victoria' category. This was as close as I could get, but the car I am selling has no 'Crown Victoria' designation.
