Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this 1969 dodge charger general lee project car. It is an original 383 Big Block car, now has no engine or trans. This car was purchased by the previous owner as a complete car with motor and trans only needing minor restoration. the body shop in Tennessee where the car was stole the engine, trans, and grill out of the car. he is now in prison. The car was brought back in 2009 to Louisiana and was in a covered shed until i purchased it. The paint job was new in 2009, the tires were/are new. wheels were refinished(they are 15 spoke, not the more correct 10 spoke, but are in good shape). The car is mostly complete, but most stuff under the hood is missing. some stuff like driveshaft, radiator, air cleaner etc are in the truck. Most of the trim, and i think all glass with the exception of the windshield are in the car. The dash cluster is set in place, and the lower pads are in the trunk. The upper dash pad is in mint condition, which is rare. There are a set of buckets with power on both sides, but are not 69 charger seats. There are 2 sets of rear seats, one set that matches the incorrect front buckets, and a set of original rear seats recovered in a funky pattern. All go with the car. I have a rebuildable complete 70's 440 and 727 transmission i would let go with the car for $600 if high bidder wants. As you can see the body looks fantastic. It was redone in 2008, and while not perfect, the body is straight and the paint job is very shiny and pretty. There are some scratches in the paint now from being moved around etc, but the car is 99% rust free. the quarters rockers doors etc all look great. The trunk floor was replaced and looks good. The drivers side floor was replaced and you can only tell that from looking underneath. frame rails front to back are NICE!. The rear valance and corners/tail panel area is nice!. Around the back window looks great. There are a few places evident where i can see some body filler. The hood is fiberglass with hood pics, i do have a factory hood i would sell with the car if desired for $400. I would not redo the body and paint on the car unless you are wanting a show car. The general lee decals on the roof and doors are accurate and in perfect shape. This is an overall excellent project car that could be finished in a few months and enjoyed. I have decided not to do the work as i work 2 jobs and haven't done anything with the car. You will not find a more solid project car with a CLEAR title to make a general lee out of, or just a regular 69 charger if so desired. These cars are getting very hard to find in good shape! I will be glad to answer any questions you have about the car. It has a clear open Tennessee title. I reserve the right to end this auction early at any time for any reason, as the car is listed for sale locally. I can assist in helping you load the car, or can meet a transporter with it if you decide to have it shipped, at your expense of course. Thanks for looking and good luck! NO RESERVE means BID TO WIN! Please serious bidders only. Thanks for looking and good luck!
