Vehicle Detail
Great little car! Runs great, super reliable - I didn't drive it all winter and it started right up after FIVE MONTHS! I have taken it several hundred miles with no problem at all. No reason to think it couldn't drive cross country or wherever you'd want to go. I've had it for a year and love it, just can't afford to keep two cars and it isn't quite practical enough to be my only vehicle. It gets 30-40 mpg depending on how fast you drive. Sturdy and fun. The a/c works great! (Believe it or not, on hot days the a/c is really helpful, even though it's a convertible - the sun can bake you up.) Lots of new parts and fine features! Details below. - Just passed CA smog today, 6/11/12. - Clear CA title. Currently registered "planned non-operation," no back fees, ready for you to register it today. - BRAND NEW TOP just installed! - 40 mpg - save money on gas. - All new brakes. - Recently replaced tires. - New battery and radiator. - New hubcaps/wheel covers. - After market AM-FM-cassette player which is missing a knob but works great. - Beautiful new Hawaiian seat covers. - Body is pretty much perfect - no dents. Could use a new paint job if you really wanted it to look fantastic, but it's a very nice little car. People comment on it and ask about it everywhere! - 5 speed, transmission and clutch work great. Does not have any of the transmission problems that Metros often develop. Shifts easily and smoothly. Being that it is a '91 car, it is not pristine. There are a few cracks on the dashboard. One window is a little scratched. Original seat upholstery is worn, though not terrible, and driver's side has a rip on the back, so I have covered them with lively new seat covers. Rear trunk does not stay open by itself (needs a $50 part if you want it to do that) so I use a pole to hold it open when I need to. However, the car is in overall very good original condition. It even has the three-part "boot" that covers the top when it's down. Great to use as is or if you're a restorer who likes to make things perfect, it doesn't have far to go. Most parts are easy to find online or at junkyards, since the regular Metros are common even though the convertibles are rare. Car is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks!
