Vehicle Detail
1957 GMC 2 Ton Pickup 4X4This Truck Runs and Drives and is close to being finished !It is located 1 Hour North of Dallas and can be inspected and driven anytime. This 57 GMC 2-TON CAB (BIG WRAP AROUND BACK GLASS) Sits on a 94 Chevrolet 4x4 Frame (Running & Driving).I removed the body off of my 1994 Chevrolet 4-Door Long Bed 4x4 that was running and driving great and placed the cab of my 1957 GMC 2 ton pickup on it. Fits Great, Looks Great and Runs Great. I also relocated all of the modern components of the 94 4x4 like the steering column, brake power booster and master cylinder, radiator, wiring harness and computer to the cab of the 57. So it looks like a 57 GMC but is actually a 94 Chevy 4x4 with front Disc Brakes and a 350 TBI with Auto Trans. The reason I picked the 94 Extended cab (4 door) long bed is because I wanted an extra long flat bed, and that's exactly what I got: Distance from the back of cab to rear bumper: 11' 6" flat bed Details: This truck starts easy, idles great, does not knock or smoke, and it does not overheat. When driving, the transmission shifts great and the truck tracks straight down the road with no problems. The power brakes work great (Front Disc and Rear Drum). The lights and gauges work. (The original instrument cluster from the 94 Chevrolet Pickup was placed in the dash of the 57, but I did NOT cut up the dash, so if you wanted to put the original 57 gauges back in you can). In order to preserve the body from rust and maintain the current look and existing old paint, I sprayed the truck with a clear coat mixed with a little metal flake. It has all new glass and rubber:Windshield newDoor Glass and vent windows newBig Wrap Around Back Glass new The sheet metal patches you see on the doors and cab corners were installed a very long time ago (60's-70's??) I never would have repaired the metal like that, but until you're ready to repair it correctly, they work great like that are and they are definitely "unique". Specs:Cab: 1957 GMC 2 Ton "Series 350" (This was a size designation in 1957 and not related to engine size) Frame / Chassis and Driveline: 1994 Chevrolet 4x4 4-Door PickupEngine 350 TBI (Throttle Body Injection)Transmission: AutoBrakes: Front Disc Rear DrumInterior: Bucket Seats Some of the things the pickup still needs:Windshield Wipers - The best way to go is the new 12 volt wiper kit. Some Rust in floor pans (not bad) and I have taken pictures so you can see it.Some rust in front cab corners and very bottom of door skin. (Overall, there is not much rust on the truck)Flat Bed This is a NO-reserve auction and this truck will definitely sell if opening bid has been met. The truck is located in Denison, Texas (1 hour North of Dallas) and has been listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle sells prior to end of auction. Again, it looks like an old 57 GMC 2 TON but sits on a modern chassis 4x4 with a 350 fuel injected engine. It runs and drives great ! Just needs TLC - it's an easy project and the hard work has all been done. This truck is being sold / auctioned "as-is". Please email me with any questionsThank You
