2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty4x4Needs Work Up for sale is a 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4. Extended Cab with swing out doors. I purchased this truck about 1 month ago, to use as a dump run, home depot run truck. Unfortunately while driving on the highway a transmission cooler line let go, and by the time i made it home the transmission was not shifting correctly. Upon further inspection, after fixing the cooler line the transmission was driven for to long low on fluid and now SLIPS in all FORWARD GEARS. Reverse is fine, no slippage, but does not go forward very good( will limp forward slowly but not really driveable unless going a short distance and avoiding hills) This has been diagnosed as a transmission front pump failure, and would cost approx $650-$750 to rebuild if removed and dropped off at local transmission shop Interior on the truck is in decent shape, average wear for year and mileage, does have a cracked windshield and radio has not works since i purchased it (junk factory ford cass radio) But overall not a bad interior. Exterior of the truck is below average, lots of typical ford rust/rot (over rear wheels, bottoms of doors, etc) Paint is in good shape other than rust, no dents or damage. Undercarraige is typical New england ford truck. Fairly rusty, but frame is solid, just a good amount of surface rust. Also could use rear leaf springs(top leaf is broken on both sides) not a big deal, they do not make noise or clunk, and hold weight fine. Has a nice set of wheels with decent tires(about 40 % tread left) Also has a flowmaster side exit exhaust(nice deep sound, would sound much nicer if manifold gasket was fixed) Heres a overview of what it could use other than trans issue-Exhaust manifold gasket on driver side-Windshield -rear leaf springs???? still usable see above Overall a decent F250 XLT, just needs some work.
