Vehicle Detail
I am moving and must sell this Antique 1964 GMC 4X4. It runs and drives but is NOT road worthy. The previous owner installed a lift kit back in the early 80's and changed the axles to a newer style. It now has front disk brakes but the master cylinder is still the original which has no bias front to rear. The brake system also has no proportioning valve. The lift kit that is installed appears to be home made and will not pass a modern safety inspection for obvious reasons. The previous owner also installed a power steering unit but I would recommend that the new owner fabricate a new system. It is powered by a 454 big block that desperately needs a tune up but still runs good with no smoke. The engine is fired by a GM HEI ignition system It has a standard 4 speed transmission and a divorced transfer case. The rear drive shaft is too long and when you go over a bump, it hits the transfer case. The front drive line is not installed and there is drive lines included that the new owner can use to fabricate one that fits. The interior is in need of a major clean up of junky old useless wiring and radio equipment. The seat needs to be recovered but for a 1964 it is in fair condition. Both doors are complete with the factory door panels. The driver side door glass is broken out and a replacement is included in the auction. The body of this truck was repainted years ago and the old body work is failing. It does have rust in some of the panels but again for a 1964 that has been neglected for years, it is in very rebuildable condition. So, to recap. This Truck Is Not Road Worthy! However it is in good enough condition to restore or customize. I do not have the time or money to complete this project and would like to pass it on to someone that does. I will not ship this truck and the new owner is responsible for pick up and transportation. It must be trailered. The winning bidder will be expected to pay a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 no later than 2 days after the auction ends and remit payment in full upon taking delivery of it from my home. At that time, I will release the title. This truck is being offered AS IS and there is no warranty or guarantees involved. I have tried to describe this truck as accurately as possible. Please look at the photos and feel free to ask questions. I will reply to questions every evening during the auction. Thanks for looking and "Happy Bidding."
