Vehicle Detail
1948 Dodge Pilot House five window pickup. ENGINE: 3.3 liter V6. TRANSMISSION: Four speed auto. TRANSAXLE: Front wheel drive. WHEELS: 2010 Dodge Avenger 17" TIRES: Hankook Optimo 215/60R17. 95% tread. OTHER: Four wheel independent suspension, power disc brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, cold A/C, heat, defrost, CD player, 6x9 speakers, seat belts, new one piece door glass, new door glass rubber, new door rubber, spare tire. Built to have a Rat Rod look but not the Rat Rod feel. This is a professionally built truck. The truck was built using a nice two owner 1996 Dodge Intrepid with 98,000 miles and service records since new. The Intrepid body was removed from the pan, retaining the core support, fire wall, and strut towers. The pan and frame rails were shortened 6 inch's and the truck cab and bed where drafted in. When looking under the truck it looks like an Intrepid. It's very hard to tell were the frame rails and pan were shortened. The 1948 truck body has great patina. The body was sanded and sprayed with Satin clear. The interior is nice, using the Intrepid dash, consol, carpet, and seats. New head liner, dash filler panel, door panels and rear cab carpet. No cracked glass. The windshield and rear center glass have some fog around the edges. All lights work. It has interior lights under the dash and on the rear view mirror. The head lights are time delayed and they automatically cut off after severel seconds once the ignition key is turned off. A complete service was preformed on the truck once built. All fluid's were changed, new brake's, new belt's, air filter, battery, and four wheel alignment. This is a very tight and good running truck. The truck has 107,000 miles on it now. I have driven it on several road trips. It drives like a modern truck and handles great. It's quiet going down the road, no squeeks or rattles. The engine and transmission are very smooth. It does NOT leak fluids or use oil. The truck is tagged in my name as a 1948 Dodge pickup. I also have the title to the Dodge Intrepid that was used in the build. Please ask if you need more info or pics. Thanks Troy
