If you are looking to buy an Audi RS6 you are clearly a well informed car buyer and know what a feat of German engineering this car is and how rare the car is. The car was only sold in the US for one year and there were appx. 860 units sold. I have only seen 2 other RS6's in my lifetime on the road. The car has a 450hp, all aluminum, twin turbocharged V8 matched to a tiptronic transmission with F1 shifting paddles and legendary Audi quattro all wheel drive. This car is 9 years old and will perform as well or outperform many modern day supercars such as the BMW M3 (414HP/0-60mph 4.8sec), BMW M5 (560 HP/0-60mph 4.3 sec), Mercedes C63AMG (451HP/0-60 4.4sec), the Audi S4 (339HP/0-60mph 4.9sec ), S5 (354HP/0-60 4.9sec), S6 (435 HP/0-60mph 5.1 sec), and RS4 (414HP/0-60mph 4.8 sec). This car new cost $84,100 (I have a copy of window sticker) and as per my local Audi dealer who sold 3 new in 2003, the car was so sought after that it was selling for over $10,000 above sticker due to limited production. The car will always be sought after by true car enthusiasts based on its performance and rarity and thus will continue to retain a high resale value for future owners. I am the 3rd owner and bought the car in January 2010 (29 months ago). When I purchased the car, it was covered under the Audi CPO program (2 years/50,000 mi) beginning on June 15, 2008 through June 14, 2010. Nevertheless, I paid Audi to perfom a full certified preowned (CPO) inspection again to make sure there were no issues. No issues were found during the inspection other than a tail light bulb out which of course was fixed. I have put appx. 6,000 miles on the car (less than 3,000 miles per year). The car is always garaged and is kept immaculate and as my wife laments is an expensive toy just to drive to get egg sandwiches on the weekend. As you will read, I have done my best to honestly and openly explain everything I know about the conditions of the car as I am very picky and expect the same honesty and integrity from the people I buy from. Vehicle Options Carbon Fiber Interior Trim Sound Enhancing Exhaust with Black Exhaust Tips- Of all the available options, this is the most important as the exhaust note versus the standard exhaust is completely different and amazing. If you have not driven or heard an RS6 you can't understand but trust me, truly this is the only option you should make sure you get as it is a more exhilirating driving experience. Body The body has no dents, rust, or door dings and is laser straight. Car has 3M clear bra. This can easily be removed if you wish to do so. I kept it on as it is very expensive to install and obviously it protects car from damage. It can only be seen very close up. You will note that there is an accident listed on the provided Experian car history report which may cause you concern as it did for me before I bought the car. This was one of the main reasons I had Audi perfom another CPO inspection despite the car already being in the CPO program. I was spending good money and wanted to make sure I wasn't buying a car with any frame damage or frankly any issues as a result of the accident. The Audi CPO inspection confirmed no frame or remaining damage and gave me no reason not to buy the car. Also, based upon the CarFax report I bought before I purchased the car, basically the car jumped a curb during a snow storm. The Michigan police report indicated "Very Minor Damage". Michigan defines "Minor Damage" as "The accident does not affect the operation of the vehicle. Examples include dented bumpers, fenders, grills or body panels. This level of accident should not compromise vehicle safety". I can email the carfax report if you would like to review. If you are considering not buying this car because of concern about this minor accident, I would say you are making a mistake and are missing out on an RS6 in great condition. The Audi dealer could not even tell there was an accident other than the fact I told them based upon the CarFax. Whatever damage, if any, seems to have been fixed. Paint Rare and sought after Mugello Blue Pearl color. Overall the paint is in beautiful conditon with all original paint with no respray even on bumpers. There are a few very minor cosmetic items that I feel any buyer should be aware of before they buy as I would want to know. 1. Windshield: There is a tiny rock chip on passenger side professionally repaired by Safelite and guaranteed for life by Safelite not to crack. There is no picture because you really cant see it in the picture. 2. Driver Door Sill (See Picture): There is a small scuff less than the size of a dime that is located on the drivers side running board below the drivers door. You really cant see this either and I am sure a little touch up paint can fix but didn't bother me. It may even be able to be removed with a good compound and buffing. 3. Front Cowl (See Picture): There is an abrasion from before I bought under the front cowl on the passenger side. Looks like a scrape from pulling in or out of a driveway or maybe scratching a crub due to the low profile of the car. You can essentially only see this if you are laying on the ground but again I wanted to point out. These conditions are truly very minor and shouldn't affect your decision to purchase this car. Engine & Transmission The car runs beautifully and strong with lightning fast and smooth shifts. Engine and drivetrain are all original with no after market modifications or enhancements just the way Audi built it. Tires & Rims Tires less than 6,000 miles new with little to no wear and plenty of tread depth. Rims are absolutely perfect without a scratch or any curb rash, this is hard to find on any car let alone a 2003. New Audi rims are not inexpensive. Interior Ebony leather with light grey piping with alcantara headliner. Interior is pristine and immaculate. Car was never smoked in. Leather seats are in virtually perfect condition. The only thing I would note is some normal wear on the left hand side of drivers seat from getting in and out over the years. The carpet is like new with no stains, burns, etc. Alcantara headliner is beautiful and in perfect condition. Carbon fiber trim all intact and no cracks. No wear on steering wheel. Have an extra set of winter mats that I will provide with car. Recalls All open recalls on the vehicle including suspension recall have all been completed by Audi. Car is already immaculate but I will have the car professionally detailed for new owner as that is how I expect my new cars delivered. Oil change recently completed (oil change costs over $100) Car comes with 2 keys and owners manual. 2 keys are important because a new key costs several hundred dollars. I am selling the car because I am buying a new M5 and need to make room in the garage. I am a performance car enthusiast and also collect classic cars and as much as I tried, I just can't convince the wife to let me have them both. I trust you can understand. Having driven both the M5 and RS6, I must say that I sometimes wonder why I am even selling the RS6 but too late as I bought the M5. The reserve is set very fair for the condition and mileage of this car and below what the average price of RS6's seem to be going for these days. I have not replaced it and it has not been replaced by a prior owner to my knowledge. Please keep in mind, as per Audi scheduled maintenance for the RS6, the timing chain is not to be replaced until 75,000 miles so it should not have been replaced yet .
