65 Mustang GTOriginal Equipment - A Code 289, 4 Speed, Factory Front Disc Brakes, Deluxe Pony Interior, This my personal Mustang project. I own and operate a Mustang repair facility in Sacramento, CA. This is an extremely rare find with 67,112 original miles! It was ordered with the GT option, "A" code (4 barrel) 225 hp 289, 4 speed, deluxe (Pony) interior), Front Disc Brakes, Styled Steel Wheels. I am forced to sell THE car I've wanted since 1965 (yes, I was 15 in 65). We bought it in 2006 from a father & son who purchased it in 1993. It still has the used car "report-of-sale" in the windshield placed when they bought it from the car lot showing the original miles at 67,094. The speedo now reads 67,112. They started an engine, suspension, transmission change-over and found that they "bit off more than they could chew" and after 13 years they gave up, we bought it from them. The project came with a BRAND New 1995 Mustang 5.0 Ford Racing crate motor and rebuilt T-5. The fuel injection was remove in favor of a high-rise manifold & Holley 700 CFM 4 barrel. I still have the original 289 and 4 speed removed from the car. All of the suspension and brakes have been replaced or rebuilt. The alternator, starter (95 5.0 starter) and distributor (with Pertronix Electronics) are all rebuilt. The heater assembly was completely rebuilt with all new foam seals & new heater core.There is NO Rust. The floor sheet metal is perfect (found when carpet was replaced). The rest of the pony interior is factory original and looks great. There is some fading, but it doesn't detract. (This included a few full throttle blasts...) It is fun to drive! (Mileage 3/26/2012 = 68000)* May 1st update - Mileage now 68600; Took the Mustang to the April Car Show at Mustangs Plus in Stockton, Won the Trophy 65 Coupe - "Stock" - also got 21.7 MPG! It is all in near perfect condition. I have driven this Mustang since February now, and it is fun to drive! At 65 MPH, in 5th gear, the engine is quiet and you can relax and talk to passengers or listen to the factory AM radio, or not... If you win the bidding on this auction, you can fill the tank with fuel and drive it anywhere, well on any interstate anyway.
