Vehicle Detail

This is a classic 1973 Volkswagen Vanagon. It was a one owner when I bought it with a blown engine and has been a great project, but my needs have changed so I must part with it. It is a great camper van with a custom ice box and sink, plenty of storage and an upper and lower berth. All the upholstery has been professionally redone in blue denim with brown faux fur front seats. All the interior was rebuilt using sepili for the floor and cabinets and the paneling is mahogany plywood.. The interior wood work and upholstery would cost about $5,000 alone. My dad is a custom cabinet maker and my mom is a professional seamstress (both with their own businesses so these two things were done as a birthday present). This van has a fairly big clothes compartment in the back with two drawers and a small cupboard in the front of the cabinet as well as the big storage space underneath the back seat (also a small SECRET compartment that is literally invisible!) The original sink and pump were reused with a water tank under the sink. I have quiet a few spare parts because I salvaged another Vanagon. Valve covers, 2 hub caps, drivers side mirror, rear view mirror, some light lenses, and a wind sheild. Also I have a and extra poptop canvas that is gray in good condition, a few push rod tubes, an extra fuel pump, an extra coil, and a few misc engine parts. . We saved some of the hardware for the table etc, however I did not want to give up the interior space for the table. The body is not in perfect shape but it is very close. with a little work it would be flawless. All of the doors and the rear hatch fit well and the slider is flawless. The engine is a completely rebuilt 1800 cc starting from the case with new valves, new cylinders and rings, new crank shaft. It has about 5,000 miles on it since the rebuild. It leaks a little oil around the rubber sleeve on the dipstick, and I am trying to work that out. It runs like a peach, has good power and fires up immediately. timing is good as well as the compression.
