Car is a 1966 230 SL convertible with hard and soft tops. I am the second owner. Bought this car in 1982 from the original owner in Belgium and had it shipped to New York. Moved the car to New Jersey in 1990 and that's where it is titled and has been stored for the last 22 years. The car has a hard top and soft top. It is a 4 speed manual transmission. It has 144,000km which is equal to approximately 89,000 miles. I had fresh gas and a battery put in the car and it started right up. I drove it out of storage and the engine and transmission work fine. All of the lights and gauges work as they should and it drives good. The seats will need some work as they are original. The engine, transmission and rear end should be gone through due to the fact that the car has not been used for the last six years. The whole car is all there and complete. The car is a easy restoration as it needs very little work. I see a little rust on the driver's side floor about the size of baseball. This is a solid car ready to be restored fully. Due to the age of the vehicle, the car is being sold AS IS. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time due to the fact that I will be selling locally.
