Vehicle Detail
In San Diego area and up for No Reserve auction is this very nice Classic Convertible Thunderbird. I'll be adding more photos shortly. A 1963 Ford Thunderbird Convertible with a 390V8 engine and automatic transmission. It has the original black plates which means it had never left the state. It has the original 1964 registration sticker on the front plate. It shows 05990 miles but I have no idea if it's turned over just once or more. If you are new to Ebay with 2 or less positive feedback, please me with your phone number. It has an restoration of about 15-20 years ago and it still turns a lot of heads. The paint is fairly good, still pretty shiny. Body is good with minor dings and scratches. There's not any obvious rust other than very few little spots of surface stuff. For a 1963 car, it's practically no rust. I have quite a few photos of the under chassis, inside the engine compartment , inside the trunk and under the convertible lids.Chrome is very nice overall. One thing I noticed are the tail lamp trim rings. Right side is like brand new and left side looks original with some blemish. This is by no means a museum quality car but it's a very good looking driver. Can use it in parades and going to car shows. Engine is very strong. It's a 390V8. It's easy to start and idles well. It runs good. I drove it about 10 miles out of storage to take pictures of it. Transmission shifts very nicely. By looking at the engine compartment, it's easy to tell that a lot of money had been spent in it's upkeep. It has dual cylinder brake master and a power brake booster. The assembly has chrome finish. It has front disc brakes. Upholstery is fair. Looks good from a distance. Up close, there's a lot of little cracks and seam separations. Carpet is fair. Dash is very good with no obvious crack. Center speaker cover screen is faded. Door panels has some cracks at places. The after market tonneau cover looks very sharp in place and can be removed easily. Convertible top fabric is almost brand new. The power mechanism works almost perfectly. Opening is perfect. Closing needs a little manual help with the trunk lid. Not sure exactly what is needed. Matching set of tires are very good, about 80% tread left. Wire wheels are very nice. One of them has minor rust corrosion. I do have the factory skirts for them but they cannot be installed over the wire wheels. The paint on the skirts are the same quality as the body. Brakes stops well. The auction winner will get a clean and clear CA title. Registration expired 3-24-10 so there's late DMV fee for CA buyer. There's no late fee due for out of state or foreign buyer. You pay only the bid amount. This car is smog exempt. SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY! Auction winner please email me your phone number within 24 hours of end of auction. Payment terms: Deposit of $2000 within 2 days, balance within 7 days. Cash in person. Cashier's check by mail ahead of time.Bank wire is also welcome. No paypal or credit card, sorry. Will help coordinate with shipping, cross country or overseas. For departing city zip code, please use 91902, Bonita, CA. Near San Diego. On May-24-12 at 22:42:35 PDT, seller added the following information: 1963 Ford Thunderbird convertible, not a roadster. Color is code D 1070 medium turquoise metallic, interior code is 77 Lt. turquoise crinkle vinyl. 390 V8, 4bbl carb.Windshield is good with no crack or rock chip. Rides and drives well, shifts smoothly. No blowby and no smoke from exhaust. No knock. Engine oil pan has a small leak, can use a new gasket. 3 power windows work fine. Left rear does not go up. Both the motor and window is in place, just not working. Has one power seat. The factory feature of the steering wheel/column moving right for ease of the driver upon exiting works fine. AM radio works. On the right front seat, the right plastic frame has crack in the plastic. Both carpet plates at both sides at the door jams has scratches and small dings. I was told that the rear wheels well areas inside the trunk where the convertible top frame is bolted onto is usually rusty in a lot of these classics. This one is solid and rust free at those places. On May-24-12 at 22:52:15 PDT, seller added the following information: CA DMV fee due that would include licensing and registration to March of 2013 is $754. This back fee is passed onto a CA buyer. I really apologize for that to CA buyers. It's best when it's registered in another state. Again, All out of state and foreign buyers won't have to pay that fee.
