Vehicle Detail
Well, as much as I hate too, it is time to sell my pride and joy of a pickup truck. I bought this truck for my company 5 years ago with 180,000 miles on it. When I bought it, I looked all over for a rust free Quad Cab 4x4 with 5spd that was in good shape. The truck at the time didn't have a gooseneck or even a brake controller installed in it. It was apparently just used as a daily driver. My plan was to keep it forever until last year when I bought a 2011 Dodge diesel. Over the last year, I still tossed the idea back and forth of selling it and really didn't want to because of how much I like it. I have personally put almost all of the remaining miles on it and have kept it as meticulous as I could. Shortly after I bought it, I had the rockers and door bottoms coated with a Rhino liner to ensure it wouldn't rust out like the rest I had seen. I live 62 miles one way from work (all highway) and used the truck mostly to just drive back and forth to work. I realize it is foolish to let a truck of this caliber just sit so I figure it is time for a new home. I would get in this truck this afternoon and drive it ANYWHERE period with no hesitations. It gets consistenly at least 18 mpg even with the flatbed. It is a 1998 3500 4x4 with 24v cummins turbo diesel motor. It is not the notorious cracking "53" block so no worries there. For options, it has power windows, power locks, keyless entry, cruise control, trailer tow package, A/C, and AMFM Cassete/CD Player. The trailer tow mirrors were a nice upgrade that wasn't offered in 1998. They are FACTORY folding, power and heated. Everything to my knowledge works including ICE cold A/C (coldest AC I have ever had in a vehicle), heat, power everything, 4x4, cruise (a little finicky but works), and all other options. The wheels are American Racing AR-39 (look awesome IMHO) and the tires are 285/75/16. Two of the tires are like new and the other two are probably 60%. Since I have owned it, here is a list of everything that has been done to my knowledge. Some of these were done out of necessity while others were just an upgrade. Most of these things have been done within the last 20k miles so this truck is in tip top mechanical condition. Front brakes (are now a little on the low side now but have life left), Injection pump, +40hp injectors, lift pump upgrade, vacuum pump, power steering pump, U joints, carrier bearing, ATS exhaust manifold, new head and gaskets, 4" turbo back exhaust, rear motor seal, apps sensor, blower motor and resistor, rear brake shoes and drums, rear ring and pinion, 4x4 front driveshaft-joints and fork, and dual Optima Red top batteries (over $300), front shocks, fuel filter (recent), and always kept up on oil changes at 5000 mile intervals with Rotella 15W-40. I also had a heavy duty rebuilt NV4500 trans installed about 20,000 miles ago with a South Bend clutch, flywheel, throwout bearing, and slave cylinder. I could have went cheap and just went with the minimum but I wanted to make sure there would be no issues to worry about with this trans and clutch combo for a long time to come! Physically, you don't see many in this good of condition. The body only has a minor ding or scratch here and there and is solid. The paint still shines and has been kept up with touch up when needed in chips/etc. Windshield is free of chips and repairs and all glass is in good shape. The interior is really clean with no rips in the seats and only minor spots on the carpet that I am sure would shampoo out. The dash ISN'T cracked (try finding another one that isn't) and is a testament to how I kept this truck clean. The motor bay is clean and looks nice as well. The undercarriage has only minor surface rust as you would expect from any vehicle older than 2 years old but doesn't have any scale or worry spots. I kept the truck just like it was until about 3.5 years ago. At that point, I saw a Bradford Built flatbed and really like the way they looked. I paid the local dealer to install a brand new one with the side boxes and gooseneck hitch. At that time, I also installed the brake controller. I only have a 14k flatbed gooseneck trailer and I really rarely use it. This truck is built to tow or pull whatever but when I towed with it, I always took it nice and easy (again, I wanted this truck to last forever). It has a combo 7round/4flat trailer plug so a multitude of trailers will plug right in. All the lights on the bed work and I upgraded the white reverse lights to LED so you can see to work or load things at night. This bed and boxes would cost you $3500 to have installed professionally today. This auction is a NO RESERVE auction so the high bid will win! I have mentioned it being for sale to a few people and sort of have it for sale locally too. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask or give me a call at 563-676-2032. IMoline, IL international airport is 10 min away (MLI) and I can pick you up there with the truck if you wish to fly in and drive home. It has a clear title in my possession that will be given to the winning bidder once payment in full has been made. $200 paypal deposit due within 48 hours of auction end. Full payment due in cash in person within 7 days unless other arrangements are made with me. ANY other form of payment must fully clear the bank before the truck or title will be released. I am a private party so you won't pay me any sales tax or registration or any other stupid fees. Your high bid price is what you pay!
