Vehicle Detail
Time to find a new caretaker for my father's 1926 Ford Model T. We have cared for the car for 4 years, but its time to sell. This car was restored many years ago (mid 1960s), and still looks great. Its got the usual chips and scratches, but no dents or such. Paint is nice and shiny and shows well after all those years. The interior is really nice and appears to be correct for the car. The headliner and door panels are excellent. The wheels are wood spoke and are decent. The lights front and rear work, but the horn needs rebuilt. Spending more time with the car recently, I've discovered a few minor things. The carpet is worn and doesn't seem correct, but is still nice. There is a small hole in the carpet behind the front seats from bending it back to get to the battery under the floor. The car must be crank started, although the starter is working. I think my father was going to replace the starter gear and flywheel ring gear because both were missing teeth. The starter just spins freely when you press on the floor button. The only thing I know my father did to the car was clean out the carburetor and fuel lines. He also had the gas tank cleaned and sealed internally. If you would like to see the car in person, contact me. Good luck bidding. I added a few pictures of the scratches and chips. The first pic is the cowl scratch (drivers side), which is common on these cars because sometimes folks aren't careful when raising and lowering the hood. The second pic is of the passenger rear fender (hairline crack in the paint). The third is of the drivers front fender (couple of chips, one poorly touched up). Last two pictures are of the rear of the cab (not sure how someone chips the paint on the back of a car). All of these minor imperfections can easily be fixed and most people probably wouldn't even notice. Not too bad for a 45 year old restoration. Thanks.
