Vehicle Detail
Hello eBayers, I am selling my custom shorty VW bug. This car is a lot of fun to drive and gets a huge amount of attention for such a little car. It runs and drives great. Like all custom/classic cars it could use a few things. I am alone and can not do the main thing that it needs. Whoever wins this auction will need to get someone to help you for a few minutes and bleed the brakes. They work great but you have to hit them twice to get them to kick in. No big deal to me where I drive it but, if you were to take it on a trip or anything it could be a safety issue. It has needed it since I had them converted from drum brakes all around to ONLY disc brakes in the back. I was afraid that with such a short wheelbase and such a light car that in an emergency if I had to slam on the brakes and swerve at the same time that the front tires would slide straight. It also needs a 6 volt starter put on it, I have one that goes with the car, but I could not get the little bushing for the 12 volt starter that is in it now out of the transmission. Not sure what the trick is, maybe just one more simple tool I do not have. It works fine, but it sounds funny when you start it. But it does still start right up It has the 6 volt flywheel on a 12 volt starter (I hope I am remembering that right, if not it is the other way around. Either way the brand new starter that fits it comes with the car) I had a brand new clutch put in it and may have put 50 miles on it. I drive semi for a living and do not really drive any of my cars very much at all. I am getting married soon to a Filipino girl and am selling off a few things to try to get the extra money to fly there so she does not have to travel alone. This car fits fine and hauls smooth on my little single axle 10' trailer. I can drive it right up the ramp and close and lock the gate with a little room to spare. If you have any questions email me and i will get back to you as soon as I can. I am in central Kentucky and am only available for you to pick up the car on the weekends, or depending on what route I am on I can be available tuesday and thursday afternoons but would have to leave again in the early evening. I can help with shipping it to you if you are close enough, 100-150 miles or so. But the only vehicle I have that I can pull with is a lifted up silverado that gets 14 miles per gallon tops, and that's not on back roads.
