Vehicle Detail
I originally purchased this 1961 Dodge Polara from 2 Brothers Automotive in Englewood, Colorado back in December of 2003. They had rebuilt and customized her, so there have been numerous upgrades and modifications which I have listed below. She’s got a 406 cu in Chrysler stroker 490 HP engine which has consistently run well. When purchased I was told that they started with a 383, but the owner of the shop (who performed the modifications) passed away and I was unable to obtain proof of the original engine for re-sale purposes. Therefore, I can only verify it's current displacement. I had 2 Brothers set the vehicle to pass Colorado emissions standards and allowed it to remain that way since. It passed emissions in Colorado again in April of 2011. The car has been stored in an insulated garage and used only as an occasional weekend cruiser in the summer. The goal was to make it a show car, but that project will have to be passed on to the new owner since I have relocated, have a baby on the way and had to leave the car behind. Since I live out of state, the car has not been driven since last April. The interior had also been restored by 2 Brothers Automotive so the seats, door panels and headliner have very little wear and are in “like new” condition. The only remaining interior work that I’m aware of is to finish the dash (you can best see it’s condition from the attached pictures) and to replace the knob for the window crank on the driver side door. The exterior was painted Hotrod Black in 2003. There are only a few cosmetic issues that I’m aware of on the body including a dent in the chrome around the rear driver side fender near the taillight, loose trim on the driver side door and a cracked / chipped taillight on the passenger side. She has been a joy to drive and a continual head-turner. I’ve listed additional details below and am happy to answer any questions you may have. • 1961 Dodge Polara 2 door hardtop coupe. • Odometer has 19401 miles. • Engine has less than 750 miles on it since finished in 2003. • Chrysler stroker 406 cu inch engine 490 HP. • Mopar 2 x 4 tunnel Ram with 2-500 C F M Edlebrock Carburetor. • MSD Ignition system. • Pro Comp 727 Torqueflite 2800 Stahl converter. • B & M Shifter. • 8.8 Inch Ford posi rear differential. • Triangulated rear differential adjusters. • Wilwood 4 piston rear disc brakes. • Stainless steel 4 piston front disc brakes. • Mopar superstock leaf springs. • Q A 1 rear shocks. • Custom free flow exhaust. • Auto Meter tach and gauges. • Passed Colorado State Emissions in April 2011 (not currently registered). • New front and rear bumpers in 2003. • Cragar wheels. • M & R seatbelt (driver side only). • New interior in 2003 including everything but the dash. • Cracked passenger side taillight (see attached picture). • Small dent in drivers side rear chrome trim on fender (see attached picture). • Drivers side door trim piece is loose (see attached picture). • Rust on underside of trunk lid (see attached picture). • Missing Power Steering filler cap. • Installed a battery quick disconnect in 2004. • Replaced fuel lines in 2010. • Small leak in gas tank if filled above 3/4 tank capacity. • Original fuel gauge working. • Original speedometer non functional. • Original shift buttons not connected due to after market shifter. • Original Temp gauge disconnected due to after market water temp gauge. • Power Steering fluid cap is missing and makeshift replacement has been utilized.
