Vehicle Detail

I am relisting our fabulous Limited with a lower reserve. We got very close last time, so please bid to own. Email your questions, offers or concerns. Thanks! Offered here is an amazing, mostly original 1958 Buick Limited four-door hardtop, which is very nicely equipped with power steering, brakes, windows, seat, Wonderbar radio, power antenna and Autronic Eye. I have owned this car for a number of years and know it was originally sold new in Rhode Island to a woman in Nebraska, where the car stayed until shortly before I acquired it. The seats were covered in Buick accessory seat covers, and when these were removed the seats were almost like new--still soft and plush, and the rest of the original interior is in very nice condition. The dash pad and dash and interior chrome are excellent. I repainted the metal dash top b/c it was faded. The original carpet is still pretty nice, and I dyed it to liven up the color. The car originally had a Buick dealer a/c system, but this has been removed. You can see some indentations in the carpet from the bracket. The left rear armrest is a bit shrunken, as seems to be the case oftentimes. I replaced the headliner due to some holes around the visors. The trunk areas is original with some stains but is very presentable. The car has a gorgeous interior! The car has never had any major restoration except for a paint job a number or years ago and some spot painting since that time. I have owned several of these cars, and this car without doubt has the best original chrome on a Buick Limited that I have ever seen. Its amazing! The potmetal is in excellent shape and the original chrome and stainless are very nice. All of the normally weak areas on these cars are quite strong and nice on this survivor. Shortly after acquiring the car the rear bumper top and one rail were rechromed. The rest of the chrome and potmetal are amazing with few to no pits on anything. This car was stored for a number of years before I acquired it, and when brought back to life the usual maintenance was done...brakes, fluids, tune-up etc. It runs very well but stumbles a bit when cold. I installed a '59 Buick Carter carb, but I kept the original Rochester. I have driven the car on several trips without incident. At this time, the radio works intermittently but the Wonderbar does not scan. The power seat works and the power windows work, but the rears are slow. All of the gauges work. The speedometer drum does not work, but the odometer does, so I would say the miles are approximate. The car originally had Air-Poise suspension, but most of the components have been changed out over the years. The Flight Pitch transmission is very strong and positive in all gears. I should note that the valve body sticks at times, but the car has always gone into all gears fine after a few minutes. I think a good transmission flush would correct this. I installed radial wide-whites several years ago. This is one of the nicest original Limiteds I have seen, and it certainly has the most fabulous chrome and interior I have seen on one of these cars ever. With a little mechanical work and some detailing, it would be one of the most authentic survivors there is. The black paint, while old is still in very presentable condition, and best of all, this is a rust-free car. It was never undercoated and no rust was found anywhere to speak of--inner boxes, trunk lip, rockers, etc. are are very nice. If you are looking an original, nicely optioned black Limited, I think you've located one of the nicest survivors there is. Please email your questions, or if you need to speak seriously, I'll email you my phone number. I have a reserve set commensurate to the value of a Limited in this condition. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time in the event of a local sale or acceptable offer. There is no warranty expressed or implied. Thank you for your consideration. Rex Crews Durham, NC
