Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a real deal 1967 Pontiac GTO, 2 Door Hard Top. This is an actual 1 owner car that has been in lengthy storage since 1983. This car has never been offered for sale until now. I will describe this to you to the best of my ability of what I was told and how I see the car. The car has the original 400, WT, 335 HP, 4 BBL V-8, Factory 3 Speed Manual Transmission, Manual Steering and Manual Drum Brakes, Single Trac 10 Bolt Rear, Vinyl Top. Pretty much a bare bones GTO. The odometer shows 64,000 miles but can not verify. When I picked up the car it had been in barn storage. The car was quite dirty from sitting. The interior had been taken out. We got the car home and spent some time just cleaning it up. I primed out the floors to highlight current condition. I re-installed the interior. I got the car running and it will yard drive and stop. The car has dual exhaust but one muffler is missing. The rest of the exhaust looks usable. I put brake fluid in the cylinder but did not bleed the system. They do stop the car and will be fine for loading. The motor sounds real good for not doing a tune up.I ran it on an alternate fuel source as i was not sure of the condition of the fuel tank. Transmission goes into all gears fine. Clutch feels fine. This may have had some aftermarket wheels and tires at one time and they were missing when I got the car. I installed a set of wire wheels and tires for now but I am not including them in the sale. I will sell them for a price but if you dont want them I will install a set of rollers to get the car down the road. I went back to the barn and found the five factory rallye wheels that belong to the car. They are in good shape and will be included. Trim rings and centers are missing. Also missing are the 2 front door panels and both rear trim panels. I need to go back as they may have found the seat belts and arm rests. In the pics you will notice the hood was partially open . I could not get it to latch properly. I was told that in 1980 body work was done to the car. In looking at the car you can see where both lower rear quarters were brazed in and also both front fender bottoms. The brazing is starting to lift and you can see an outline of the old work. There was also a few patches brazed in on the drivers floor pan area and seat belt mounts. The floor is still 99% solid and very useable. A 3 piece trunk pan was installed also back then and now there is some rust through on the left side extension area. There is some rust blisters under the vinyl top. Most of the headliner is missing and in looking at the metal it appears good and solid. Also I can't feel any soft spots. I believe the body and these repaired areas can be cleaned up properly and used the way they are for now or if your going to do a full restoration obviously you would want to fix these areas professionaly. The important part is that the frame is exceptionally clean which is surprising! Front bumper is like new, back bumper had some surface rust on the right side and will need to be re-chromed. I think with a little chasing you could have the car on the road in a short period of time. These cars are fast appreciating and many have been restored and are in the high priced catagory now and out of reach for the average buyer. This is a car that you can buy now, enjoy as you fix up and restore it at your own pace.We reserve the right to end the auction early as we have had some local interest. car will be sold with maine transferable registration and proper dealer paper work.
