Vehicle Detail
Bringing Classic and Collectable Car Buyers & Seller Together Worldwide 1923 Oldsmobile Model 47T V-8 Sport Touring Top Shelf Reps is proud to be offering up to you this 1923 Oldsmobile Model 47T V-8 Sport Touring. Documented third owner of a strikingly original car, New York International Auto Show car. V-8 engine with cylinders cast in fours, 234 cubic inches, 3-speed sliding gear transmission. Wind-up clock, optional Tuarc disc wheels, Moto-Meter. New top. Oldsmobile was among the first US car builders to offer a V-8 engine.Starting in 1916, the Olds flathead V-8 began to power their Model 47 automobiles and provided reliable and powerful motoring at an incredibly early period. This car was purchased new by a respected Doctor in Kentucky. The car was in his ownership until the mid-1940's when, after several years of seeing the car in the basement of the Doctors home and asking about it, the gentleman gave it to his oil delivery man. It would stay in his hands for the next seven decades until approximately two years ago when purchased from the estate of the oil man. The car has always been garaged and has no rust or rust repair of any sort. The car has been completely rehabilitated mechanically and runs and drives as good as it did back in the day. It has a documented 18,000 miles from new and retains virtually all of its original components with the exception of the new California canvas top. This car would be welcomed (and likely win) just about any major preservation event. The originality of this automobile is astounding. The car has been used as a pattern to restore the interior of another model 47. This is believed one of only approximately 10 surviving and is without argument the most original and lowest mileage Olds from the era on the planet! It is truly a time capsule back to the early 1920's and represents one of the most interesting and sought after vehicles of the era. Inspection and test drives are welcomed throughout the duration of the auction. Reasonable offers considered at any time. Please feel free to email or call with any questions that you might have.
