*************This is a great candidate for restoration since it is NOT all rusted-out or Cut-up like so many trucks of this age************** Up For sale is my 1983 Toyota SR5 4x4 Longbed Pickup. *THIS IS A PROJECT TRUCK*. I purchased this truck from the ORIG OWNER last year, it was purchased off the showroom floor at Reno Toyota in 1983. It has spent ALL it's life in N. Nevada. I don't have the $$$$ to restore it back to it's orig glory, so I must reluctantly part with it :( It is my hope that a new owner will NOT make a crawler out of it or cut it all up and destroy it! There are so few of these 4x4 trucks left that are un-molested & Un-Cut!! The Factory SR5 Bucket Seats still wear their ORIGINAL 30yr-old upholstery! This is due to the fact the orig owner kept seat covers for many years! Look at the pictures of the interior & pay special attention to the driver's seat bottom - VERY NICE FOR 30yrs-old!!! The L side vinyl is torn on the side where the recline lever is, though. It has NO RUST other than minor surface rust you'd expect with a 30 year-old vehicle! The frame is PERFECT & STRAIGHT with NO RUST at all!! The body is fairly straight, but has the normal dents you'd expect for a 30-yr old work vehicle. The Left door & Tailgate are the worst of all the rest of the body panels, but very repairable. The Tires are BALD but all 4 hold air. The Chrome rims have some Surface Rust. Again, It is a PROJECT TRUCK! It runs and drives and shifts gears OK but 2nd gear syncro is shot. The 4x4 works good also except the right front hub is stuck in "free" mode, It won't turn to "lock" position. The left hub works fine. The Factory A/C is intact from the firewall rearward, however from the firewall forward everything is in a box, but it is all there and will be included with the sale. The heater-Defroster, Fan ECT work fine. There is NO Radio but the dash opening for it is UNCUT!! The engine was rebuilt by the orig owner and runs, however all the SMOG devices & vacuum lines have been removed and therefore it doesn't idle right (runs very rich)- probably for that reason. I'm not an expert on getting a carb to function right with all Vacuum lines removed! If there are some Yota Gear-Heads out there who know how to get a stock carb to work right with ALL Vac lines removed, I would appreciate any help on what to do!! All the lights and guages work fine, as does the speedometer & odometer. Please note: The Vehicle History Report states 1-Owner, ODO Check is OK, and NO Accidents & Title CK is OK!! I have described this truck as accurately as possible. But if you have any questions please ask them thru Ebay. Thankyou & Happy Bidding!!
