Vehicle Detail
I went to a repo auction to buy a truck and got this instead. Now I realized I really need a truck! When I bought it I paid the dealership to look it over for any problems. They reported two: needs a drivers door actuator. From what I read from most Mercedes forums is that this is common in the C- class. It still locks just pulsates. This part cost about $60. Most dealerships will charge $400 for part and labor. But you can do it yourself for $60. The second problem is a child restraint censor underneath the passenger seat, also known as a restraint system control unit. Dealer charges around $1,100 for parts and labor. I have found this part for $250. It is easy to install but you still need to take it to the dealership to have them reprogram it. My local dealership does it for $80 but there are some independent mechanics that have the equipment to reprogram and would probably do it for free. This car is really nice!! Drives well and runs great with only 90k miles. It has a lot of power for a 2.6L V6. It comes with power leather seats, moonroof, 10 disc cd player, bluetooth, and a lot of other really cool gadgets. I put a new radio in it, along with new side markers, third tale light, and front hood emblem. this car was repainted by a previous owner. no dents on the exterior nor rust on the body. Interior is really nice!! Seats have no tears! This is all I know about the car. Starting bid is $2000 below book! I did this because of the repairs it will need as mentioned above. Dealer said the passenger airbag will still work, just will not register if some one is sitting in the seat or not. So, it doesnt really affect the car except for a annoying SRS light coming on each time you start the car. Good Luck!!!!
