Vehicle Detail
Runs and drives good, but car has numerous issues. I am currently driving this car as my everyday vehicle and I would confidently drive it anywhere in the country, BUT there is a long list of things that you might want to address if you intend to use it for regular transportation:Exhaust system has leaks, I just welded together the right pipe by the flex joint, not sure how long that will last. These exhaust systems were originally one piece from front to back and a previous owner had cut it apart and welded it back together with tubes for splices. The splices rusted out and I put it together with only clamps so now it leaks at the splice joints.Check engine light comes on for the EGR valve. I reset it and it stays off for 2 or 3 days.Cruise control doesn't work.Right front tie rod is worn, plus may have other suspension parts worn.Automatic door locks don't work, vacuum pump bad or leaks somewhere.Sunroof stuck closed.Heater doesn't put out much heat below 10 degrees, probably some flapper valve doesn't open or close all the way inside the dashboard.Outside mirrors are fogged.Right front fender was dented in a parking lot, put clear tape over the turn signal.Daughter hit a raccoon and busted the lower grill inserts out below the bumper. Had to tie wrap the plastic under the bumper to keep it on.Tires are at about 50%, one mismatched tire on the left rear side.Drivers seat has a big rip. Door handles on inside are all scratched up, like the previous owner had sandpaper mittens or something.Radio had been stolen and dash trim was busted, but I kind of fixed it up so it doesn't look too terrible.Body has some dings and scratches. Other minor flaws too numerous to mention.Wow. If I haven't talked you out of buying this car by this point, here are the good things: Transmission was rebuilt at about 117,000 miles, so it only has about 60,000 miles. But the transmission shop did make a minor mistake and a seal kept leaking on the right side. Instead of taking it back out (I don't blame them), they plugged up the drain hole for the empty cavity where it was leaking from. (this is where the right front drive shaft goes through) It hasn't leaked since, but if you are going to swap this transmission you might want to fix the seal. Probably not a major fix once it is out.Engine runs good, but does use a little oil. I changed the timing belt, water pump and rollers at 112,000 miles. I have changed the oil every 5000 miles. Air conditioning works good.Buy to drive as is or for parts.
