Bringing Classic and Collectable Car Buyers & Seller Together Worldwide 1959 Ford Fairlane Skyliner Retractable Up for auction is this very nice and solid 59 Retractable. As you can see that the plate on the car is a 1976 Bicentennial plate in the state of Nebraska. We are assuming that this is the last time this car was registered. The current owner bought the car in 1983 and has kept inside ever since. The owner has driven the car a few times and says that it runs and drives very well. He recently has given the car a minor tune up and the car starts up and runs smooth. The original 332ci V8 is still in the car and has only 78,657 original miles. The paint on the car would be the only thing that would need to have some work. The owner painted the hood but it does not match perfectly but looks ok. The top works as it should up and down with the flip of a switch! If you have not ever seen a top for a 1957, 1958 or a 1959 retractable it is a sight to see. The body is very solid with only a few minor spots of rust that are common with these cars. The chrome and stainless are in fantastic condition. The interior is also in very nice condition! The carpet has been replaced but the seats are original and are in excellent condition. The car has a power seat, power steering and power brakes. Also a Town and Country radio and a remote mirror. This is an original A/C car, the owner has not ever used the AC but says it is all there and knows of no reason why it would not work! Might need a charge were sure.
