Here is your opportunity to own a true Japanese classic. This 1977 280Z is a real stunner. It has been well cared for by me for the past five years. I have enjoyed the car but my garage is full and it is time for my Z to go to a new home. The body is rust free and had a recent paint job that has only a few blemishes and parking lot dings. The lower fron valance is dented from a parking lot curb, and there is a slight blemish on the rear bumper finisher. The car is accident free and was painted the original color. The interior is in good used condition with carpet fading and console cracks. The dash was covered with a full face cap and looks great. The steering wheel is covered and the original finish is not very presentable. Like most early Z cars, the clock does not work. There is an aftermarket CD player with auxiliary IPod input. The odometer reads 71400 miles but it is unknown to me if it has gone around, so the true mileage is unknown. The 4 speed transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch has plenty of life remaining. The engine starts right up and runs smoothly, with plenty of power. During my ownership I have replaced the steering rack, tie rod ends, ball joints, front wheel bearings, fuel injectors, alternator, battery, fuel lines, water and vacuum hoses, spark plugs and wires. The front brakes were refurbished and the aluminum drums are still on the rears. The struts were replaced with Tokico HP cartridges and springs that improved the handling and overall stance. I will include the original springs with the sale if you want to return the suspension to the stock height. Most of the car’s rubber bushings were replaced with polyurethane during the suspension rebuild. The front tension control rods were replaced with Techno-toy Tuner’s adjustable units that are vastly superior to stock. Check them out at www.technotoytuning.com for more info. The nearly new Yokohama tires have less than 2500 miles on them and the old school Ultra alloys look great and are the proper offset. The AC system components are all there, but it has not functioned since I’ve owned the car. All the original smog equipment is installed and functioning properly. The car passed the California emissions test last year. The car is offered as-is and where is. No warranty is offered or implied. I have described the car to the best of my knowledge. A certified cashiers check, cash, Bank wire transfer, or PayPal payment is due within 14 days of the close of the auction or the car will be relisted and the initial deposit forfeited. Full payment is expected prior to vehicle delivery. It is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange and pay for any transportation, taxes or any other costs required to transfer title. If the winning bidder is in California, or at the request of the buyer, the sale will include a current California smog certificate valid for 90 days after the date issue. If the buyer fails to register the vehicle in California within this time, it is the buyer’s responsibility to obtain a new smog certificate.
