For sale is a 1987 560 SL. This car ran quite well until it sat up in my car port for a few years. We recently had to clean out the fuel tank replace the 2 fuel pumps and the float, and get the car back on the road again. I was keeping the car, and had planned on gifting it to my daughter who was born in 1987, as her wedding gift. Once the mechanic got the car running, the car now smokes. The temperature is normal. It just smokes, he said he consulted another shop and they told him that that happens when some type of valve is stuck open having to do with the fuel setting up too long. I had a neighbor who is a hobby mechanic take a look at it, he too couldn't figure out why it smokes. He said it just might need a rebuild. I simply do not have the time to rebuild the car. I have owned it since around 18 years or so. The car is tagged and titled in florida to our vacation home but has been kept in Henderson Nevada since 2004. I Have taken pretty good care of it. This car was kept in my open carport. Not a garage. There are a few cracks in the dash leather. I believe to be the second owner on the car. The car has never been involved in an accident. in 2004 I had the convertible top rebuilt and a fresh paint job on the car which is now starting to fade. I also had the exhaust worked on.  I do have the hard top for the car too,  it is stored in my shed. The car has a clear title.   It was driven once in a while, not an every day car for us. This car is located in Henderson nevada. The car does run but it smokes too much to drive away. I would recommend taking it on a tow dolly. The mechanic did change the oil before starting. The car does have fresh oil. This car would be great for parts or a for project car.
