Vehicle Detail

1973 Triumph Stag MKII. This is not a complete car, but only a rolling body only with a lot of parts. This car spent the majority of it's life in New Mexico so although it is not rust free it has very little rust. There is minor rust starting in both front fenders and all of it could be covered with a dollar bill. There is also some minor rust in the floors and trunk area, but overall both the floors and trunk areas are very solid. The hood, deck lid and the doors are off another Stag and do have surface rust and one of the doors does have through rust on the bottom of the door. The body is also very straight and there is no visual evidence of it ever being seriously damaged or having bondo. Major parts that I know are missing from the car are the engine, automatic transmission, drive shaft, front bumper, windshield, front bucket seats, trunk shelf, and the wood trim off of the dash and I am sure there are more items missing. On the other hand there are a lot of extra parts, such as at least two extra sets of grill trim, two extra power brake boosters, one extra set of door hinges, at least one extra headlamp set and trim, at least one extra complete wiring harness and again I am sure there are more extra items. It is my understanding that there are very few of these old Stags left due to the fact that there were only 25,877 total ever produced from 1970 thru 1974 and only 2,871 of the 1971 thru 1973 models made it to the US, so if you have a rusty or wrecked Stag and need a very good body to make your restoration easier, then this may be the one, or if you are just looking for that unique sporty looking car to build a street rod or race car out of then again this may fit the bill. This car was originally a V8 and has a large engine compartment and one of the cleanest I have ever seen. This car stll has it's factory steel removable hardtop, factory roll bar, independent rear suspension and it's five original aluminum alloy wheels in good condition with centers. I also have been told that this is the same model Triumph driven by James Bond in the movie "Diamonds Are Forever". I think he drove the Stag when the Aston Martin was getting the oiI slick refilled and the machine guns re-calibrated. I do not have a title for the car, but will furnish the buyer with a bill of sale. This car was disassembled over twenty years ago and has been in storage ever since and I do not know the mileage because the speedometer is another item that is missing. When I say disassembled I mean it, even the dash and wiring have been removed. I realize that this is an unusual way to to sell a car but I have tried to describe it to the best of my ability and have probably missed something that you would like to know, if so just ask and I will try to answer your questions. If you would like to inspect the car in person prior to the end of the auction again just ask and arrangements will be made. The winning bidder will not be disappointed and the reserve is set very reasonable for the quality of this body. This car is being sold "as is where is" and the buyer is responsible for all transportation cost if required. Thanks for looking and if you are interested in it good luck in the bidding.
