Vehicle Detail
I am selling our pet project over the last four years to make room in the shop. This is an extremely nice 1973 Mustang convertible with significant upgrades and restoration. I purchased the car four years ago and have been working on it on and off as well as sending it to specialists for the big upgrades. The car was restored in appearance when i bought it, but the running gear was mostly stock and in need of attention. The following work has been completed: The stock 302/two barrel was beefed up with a edelbrock performer intake and holley four barrel, MSD electronic ignition, distributor and coil, hedman headers and complete custom stainless exhaust with magnaflow mufflers. The new radiator is heavy duty aluminum with a Flex-a-lite twin fan setup. I also added fully functional ram air as provided from the factory on ram air models. The sound is vintage ford small block! All suspension has been replaced with new including front and rear springs, tie rod ends, bushings. gas shocks and control arms. Sub-frame connectors were added as well as a powder-coated Ford nine inch rear end with traction lock and 3.50 gears. Rear disk brakes were added at this time for true four wheel disk brakes. The magnum 500 wheels were replaced with new and new tires. The C-4 automatic was replaced with a heavy duty AOD four speed automatic from a specialist in Bossier City, LA. http://www.transmissioncenter.org/classic_mustang_to_aod_conversion.htm?gclid=CKPq1bzV8a4CFSzptgodtDmNJA. Classic Auto Air was tapped to completely overhaul the HVAC with a new efficient Sanden compressor, new evaporator, heater core, blower and all new vacuum lines. The A/C works great and is up to date with the new freon. Blows cold and has been proven effective on the hottest Texas summer day. The interior has new custom black/blue seat covers, instrument and center bezels, horn cover and other tidbits to give the overall interior an outstanding stock appearance with seats that really set it off. The AM/FM 8 track is stock Ford and purchased as a refurbished unit from a vintage radio restorer. It works as new including the 8 track. Where did I put that Bad Company tape? This car is a driver and not a trailer queen. I have never driven it in the rain, however it is not all spit and polish in the engine compartment and there are a few small interior pieces that show their age, but are still nice. The paint is excellent, but has had a door ding or two touched up since its repaint. The point is, it's an extremely nice car, but not a concourse trailer queen. There is one small dent in the drivers side fender along the tape stripe that is hard to see unless the light hits it just right. Feel free to ask questions. I will be placing an ad in auto trader, so the car is technically for sale locally.
