For sale we have my daughter's 2002 VW Beetle with TDI turbo diesel engine and automatic transmission; the car is straight and clean, with very nice original paint and only a couple small nicks consistent with normal wear on a 10-year old car. The engine starts and runs great, transmission shifts as it should, and is quite economical (40 mpg or so on the highway). Oil and filter have been scrupulously changed, using Mann filters and Mobile 1 full synthetic turbo diesel oil (5w40). Both headlights are 2 months old, so the lenses are nice and clear; the car comes with 2 factory remote/keys, plus the factory valet key. Power windows/locks/mirrors are all fine, as is the cruise control. Glass is clear with no chips or cracks. Tires are Pirelli P4's from Discount Tire Warehouse with plenty of wear remaining, and they are wearing evenly, having been regularly rotated. Tires are mounted on factory steel rims with factory wheel covers (one has a chip out of it, as seen in pictures). Brakes are excellent, with no shimmy or pulsation; front and rear pads were replaced with premium ones in the last few months. Radiator and AC condensor were replaced last summer, as was the expansion valve and AC dryer. Also, one front axle was replaced in the Fall of 2011. This is a clean, nice-looking little car that is reliable and very comfortable on the road or around town. I am in northwestern Illinois right now, and the car is with me, but it has always been a Southern car, and has thus never been on salty roads and has no corrosion. The car has a clear North Carolina title, but Car Fax shows it as salvage, because it had a very light collision early in its life, and the right front fender had to be replaced (I can't discern the paint on that fender as being any different from the factory paint on the remainder of the car. In any case, the buyer would be receiving a clear NC title. One current negative about the car is that the AC compressor is apparently locked up. However, I have a near new compressor in excellent condition that was briefly used on my VW Jetta TDI, and this good compressor goes with the sale of the Beetle. Most other AC components are near-new. Another item is that the SRS light on the dash is on. It has been on as long as she has owned the car, with no problems, and the car passes inspection regardless of the light being on - but I do want to mention it. This little car cleans up nicely, runs great, is economical, and diesels are known for their long life. The car is being sold as, where is, with no warranty offered or implied. Take a look at my 100% positive feedback and then feel comfortable about doing business with me. The car will be for sale locally also, so the auction may end at any time if sold locally. I can work with a shipper, but any shipping arrangements must be made and paid by the buyer. A $500 deposit by Paypal is due within 48 hours of auction close, with balance due in certified funds or cash within 7 days of auction close. The car will not be released until funds have cleared. I hate to put so many stipulations out there, but all honest folks know that we have to be careful of unscrupulous folks.
