Up for auction is a 1987 Mercedes 560SL convertible. The 560SL, with it's 5.6 litre engine was launched in 1985 and available as a convertible coupe. It was a luxury sports car that had a Type 107 bodyshell that had made its appearance in 1970 on the 350SL. The 560 SL was created for the American market, with its overhead-camshaft V8 engine that produced an astounding 277 horsepower. Zero-to-sixty was achieved in just eight seconds and top speed was in the neighborhood of 136 mph. Only 2 owners and current owner has had since November, 2001. Car has had regular service done by certified specialist and has also had the following replaced recently: AC condensor (blows super cold), rotors, gas filter & more (have loads of receipts and documentation showing most, if not all, work done) Also, has a new Sony Bluetooth head unit and rear speakers. Body is in very good condition with minor nicks and normal wear and tear. Passenger side fog light is cracked but intact. Interior is in very good condtion except for cracking in driver's seat (see picture). Comes with Hardtop, which is in very good condition as well, however, the hardtop release mechanism takes some fiddling with but has still been able to be removed every year since purchase. Odometer has recently stopped working at 142,591 (approx. 500 miles ago). Less than 50,000 miles have been put on by current owner in over 10 years. It has been used as a weekend car and has been used less and less each year and owner now has too many cars and needs to consolidate. Comes with a rolling storage stand and original Mercedes canvas cover for the hardtop. This car is a smooth powerful driving machine and fast as heck! The convertible is great for the coming summer weather, but, the hardtop also makes it great for the colder seasons too!
