1964 Studebaker Avanti Ok Avanti collectors and enthusiast up for auction today is rare Gem, This is a great example of a 48 year old beauty that has been very well taken care of since day one and has plenty of History. This car is an R2 Supercharged with air-conditioning, yes it has both a/c and a Paxton, and this wasn't done by a local shop, this was done by Avanti Corporation. This car was specially built to debut at the Beverly Hills Hilton and driven by actress Debbie Reynolds, she did not own it just drove it out at the Hilton. This Car has had 4 owners and now is in my hands up for sale. As you can see this is a special and rare car but its rareness doesn't stop there, its forth owner Was Michael E Kelly owner of The Avanti Corporation. This car was bought by The Avanti Corporation in 1996 and spent some time in the Villa Rica Plant before finally ending up in the last Avanti plant in Cancun Mexico in 2006, there are pictures showing this car and a 1963 Yellow R2 Car that i also have for sale in a Grand Opening celebration in the Cancun factory. These two cars where brought back to the States in 2011 and are currently in Miami Florida and can be seen by appointment only..786-299-6942 Juan, Now a little on the cars current state...Paint is very good, i would rate it at 8.5 as there are very little imperfection but car shines better than a brand new car. Interior is also about and 8.5, these are my opinions and can be challenged at any time...i encourage any interested buyer to come and look at this car and not take my word for it..Engine turns on quickly and effortless, idles great..Transmission shift great as it should...brakes need attention.. i replaced a broken hose and got the brakes to work, but i recommend a full brake job and inspection before putting it on the road...A/C needs to be converted to the new 34a freon to blow cold and there are no leeks in the hoses when system was checked. again i encourage you to come a look at this car for yourself, this Avanti is in incredible conditions...Another piece of history that i found was in the glove box...There are two round plaques showing the cars participation in Two Concourse de elegance one in 1965 and another in 1966. The Last 3 picture are of this car in the Cancun Factory's grand opening, the Yellow 64 which i happen to have found a picture with Leo Newman who was another Avanti Corporation Owner..Yellow was not a production color so this leeds me to believe this is the car...notice the old cars in the background..looks to me like the back of the South Bend Factory..
