Vehicle Detail
Presenting a beautiful 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce with only 29,685 miles since new. I purchased it with 29,015 miles on it. It was and still is all original and in very nice condition. It has power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, power antenna and air-conditioning. The transmission is a manual 5-speed with perfect synchro's that shifts smoothly and precise. The engine is Alfa's world class fuel injected 2.0L 4 cylinder with double overhead cams. This one burns no oil and It runs so smoothly, rev's so freely and is built so strong that other car manufacture's have been copying it's architecture for years. Just look under the hood of any Miata as an example. With proper care and maintenance, this engine can and will go up to 200,000 miles before requiring major work. The paint is in very good condition, with a nice deep, gleaming luster. The interior is all original and in exceptional condition. The leather is supple with no fading, cracks or wear marks. The top is original and in near perfect condition. The plastic rear window has just a slight discoloration, but not bad enough to replace. Tires, wheels and brakes are in very good condition and the spare wheel and tire have never been on the ground. The carpets in the car and in the trunk are original and in like new condition, as you would expect on a nice low mileage southern California car. These were the last and best Alfa Spider's imported during this era and a really nice clean low mileage well cared for example, such as this one, are very hard to find. They are few and far between as you will discover as I did, when I went looking for this one. A large number of them were not properly cared for by their second third and fourth owners, just "ridden hard and put away wet". This car runs and drives as it should, with no excuses. It has been kept in the garage under a custom fitted car cover and occasionally my wife and I take it out for a Sunday drive, of course with the top down, and then only on nice southern California weekends. I have never taken it out in the rain and I have never washed it, I always wipe it down with a product like Meguiar's ultimate quick detailer and then of course the times when I go out to the garage in the evening just to look at it and end up waxing it just to be doing something with it. The only deviation from original is the radio. I installed a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA unit with direct USB control for iPod/iPhone/iPad with Bluetooth wireless for hands free cell phone operation here in California. The original Clarion AM/FM/cassette unit can go with the car for anyone wanting to keep it totally original. Of course when I searched for and purchased it, I was going to keep it forever, sound familiar? My wife and I are now 70 years old and have just downsized from a large two story home with three car garage to a smaller single story with only a two car garage and sadly don't have the room in the garage for it and I refuse to let it sit outside, even under a cover, so it must go to a new caregiver. If you have always wanted an Alfa Spider, or are an "Alfista" like myself, and have owned one in the past and regretted selling it and are now searching for another nice one to buy, this is a really good example of a nice one, you won't be disappointed. The really nice ones are now becoming great investment's and easily surpass putting your money into a saving's account. Did you know that before Sr. Ettore Ferrari started building Ferrari's he worked for the Alfa automobile company in their racing department. They had been in the business of building and successfully racing cars for over 30 years before he left them and started building and racing his own cars in the late 1940's. The Alfa Romeo Car company has a great history and a lot of their different models are very collectible. It's nice to see that they are now coming back to do business in America. My reserve is very reasonable for a car of this caliber, probably less than you think, so bid to own it. I reserve the right to end the bidding early as a few friends wanted first rights to buy it if I ever decided to sell, but you know how that usually goes. Of course it will be the winning bidders responsibility for any shipping cost and making arrangements to ship, however I will cooperate on this end with the loading on a car carrier. Good luck with your bidding and please feel free to call me with any questions. My office phone number is 949-458-5810
