Welcome. You are bidding on a 1980 BMW 323i European coupe. This car has all of the original factory sport options and would make a great parts car or weekend project. This has been off the road since 2001 and I am not sure as to what the CA DMV fees are. Please take a look at the pictures and read the description. This car was imported as a grey market vehicle by Hardy and Beck. Hardy and Beck was the premier Alpina dealer in the Bay Area. This car was meant for a special customer as it was a very well optioned car. Exterior: This car still retains its original factory silver paint. The paint is in presentable condition, but does have some oxidation here and there from the hot California sun. This car still has its original European small chrome bumpers that are in very good shape. This car never been in an accident and still has all of its original panels. This car does have a couple of spots of rust as it did spend time in the harsh weather climate of Germany. There is bubbling under the driver’s window and spots here and there as shown in the pictures. Interior: The interior of this car is in good clean shape and comes with the rare optional Recaro seats. The seats are in very good shape and all of the functions work. This car also has the factory sport 3 spoke steering wheel. This car still has all of the European gauges, switches, console etc. The speedometer has been changed to a 120mph US unit. The radio was stolen from this car and the thieves damaged the center consol. Engine/Transmission: This car fires right up and sounds good. It has been sitting since 2001 and it does need fresh oil, plugs, and perhaps a service. The transmission appears to be in good working order, but it does need to have the clutch slave cylinder bled or replaced prior to driving. This car would need to be towed home. Suspension/Differential: This car is fitted with the rare 323i rear disc brake setup. These are often very expensive to come by and they are a great upgrade. This car has a factory sport LSD differential and the ratio is believed to be 3.64. Overall: This car has been sitting since 2001 and would need to be towed to its new destination.
