Vehicle Detail
1969 Firebird Convertible project car. This car is a classic and convertibles are really rare. Back in the day, it was a great car to cruise in but still packed a punch. I've had the car since 1985 and it was my baby. It's been sitting for a VERY long time and I can't bear to see it as is. Besides, I live in the city and don't have a place to work on it. As you can see by the pictures it needs lots of work, but it's pretty much all there. The paint is shot. The body has rust as you can see in the pictures. Hood and front end are good. I have brand new parts for the front (see pictures). Back of car and trunk are pretty good. There is some rust on the trunk. Floors are shot. Luckily you can easily get floor pans (and just about ANY part) for this car these days. The interior is mostly original but needs replacement or work. Most of it is complete but door panels are cracked, the seats are cracked, etc. Here is a video I took recently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34j3tlhILMY It has a new battery and starts up, runs and drives but I would recommend towing it if you buy it. It's been sitting for a very long time, so I would assume that taking it out on the road as-is could be risky. There are a few new cables and hoses. The heater core is needs replacing. As far as electrical… - new battery - electrical system works - lights work - electric top switch works (but needs cylinder or hose) - no radio - wipers work The convertible top components are in working order but does not currently work with the switch. It has an automatic top and the electrical components work fine. The pump works but I believe it need a new cylinder or it blew a hose. I replaced one once but the other may be bad now. The canvas needs replacing. The rally wheels can easily be sanded and painted to look brand new. I did this before with a masking kit and a few spray can bottles. Believe me...they will look brand new if you do this. It also has the chrome trim ring and they're in really good shape. It has the original 350 and transmission. They were both rebuilt and have 39,000 miles on them. It has a 600 CFM Holley 4-barrel, but I have the original 2-barrel and intake manifold. The engine is strong and should run fine if you tune the carb a bit. Included are some new items that I never got around to installing: - KYB Shocks - Rocker panel moulding ($110) - Front headlight surrounds ($160) - Bumper to hood filler (used $60) - Oil fill cap - Fender ornaments ($79) - Misc molding Also included are some items that I removed before storing. They aren't new but are in good shape: - 350 emblems - Firebird emblems Please look at the pictures before bidding. Feel free to email me any questions. The car is in Wilmington Delaware This was my BABY! as hard as it is to sell, it's even harder to watch it deteriorate. I really hope someone can make it great again. Thanks! On Mar-19-12 at 19:39:14 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: I just added a photo of the original 2 BBL intake manifold, which is included in the sale of the car. The original carb and manifold worked great when it they were on the car. On Mar-20-12 at 08:35:40 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: A few people have requested more photos. I will definitely provide them, but it may take a day or two.On Mar-22-12 at 17:49:21 PDT, seller added the following information: COUPLE OF NOTES:• I added more detailed photos tonight• Couple people had asked....yes I do have the title. I've owned the car for 27 years.• A clarification...it's noted that the car has 39,000 miles. That is on the rebuilt engine and transmission. No idea how many total miles are on the car. The odometer was broken when I originally bought the car • Here is a recent video I took of the Firebird On Mar-23-12 at 19:14:29 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: Regarding the title...it is listed as "other". That was a mistake and it won't let me change it. I do have the title...it's sitting right in front of me!
