Looking for a VINTAGE Goldwing? We've Got It! 1978 Honda Goldwing GL1000 We took this bike in on trade, and it's a real gem of a retro bike. Here are some basics about the GL: Shaft drive Helmet lock underneath the front fairing on the R side Travelcade seat in super condition 4-cylinder boxer engine 82 Horsepower, 61 cubic inch motor 5-speed transmission 650 lbs, give or take 5 gallon gas tank Vetter front fairing Vetter tour pack or tail pack Vetter side cases ALL cases lock and we have the keys! TWO keys for the bike! The bike needs MINIMAL work to be ready for inspection: Needs new tires front and rear. Tread is ok, but the front seems to have a slow leak, and the rear one is cupped. Carbs need synced - old owner tells us it runs ok (and I believe he rode it here to the dealership), but can use this tune to run much better REVISED: The battery is DEAD.....it needs a new one. ;o) Badge is missing on the R side cover. This is purely cosmetic. At 61,200 the speedometer was replaced, and this is noted on the speedometer that was installed in it's place. You can see this clearly in the one picture. Therefore, the bike does have just over 70,000 miles....just broken in for a Goldwing! I have sat on this bike myself, and it's quite comfortable. I have a 31" inseam, and I am flat footed on the ground when the bike is off it's sidestand. It is very nimble as well, as I can easily push it around the dealership and had to when I took all the pictures. Yes, the bike needs a bath - :o) - and we can give it one before you take delivery of this awesome Honda. You could even take off the bags and fairings and have another look. I do want to mention that this bike has been parked in the same place all day today and has not leaked one drop of anything. :o))) The previous owner took this bike on many a trip and the mileage shows this - - but you can't beat the price for a piece of motorcycling history and a cheap way to get around town! Before anyone bids, I do want to make sure all interested parties understand this bike is being sold "as-is". It has wear and tear that is consistent with a 34-year old motorcycle. It needs work to be a good runner. Please understand we try to describe our used bikes to the best of our ability.
