Vehicle Detail

Up for a true 99 cent starting price no reserve auction is a 1985 Chevy 4x4 Suburban K10 Silverado. I've owned this vehicle for over 17 years. I am the third owner. The first owner was an Idaho-Palm Springs snowbird. The second owner was a minor league baseball player. There has been no internal work done to the engine. I rebuilt the injection system and injectors around 175 kmi (professionals did the rebuilding, I did the remove/ship/replace). It doesn't have many miles on it's second transmission rebuild. I've replaced things like starters, batteries, alternators, radiator, and belts. Something in the brakes are squeaking, so the shoes and/or pads probably need replacing. The steering is sloppy, so it could use a rebuild on the steering box. It is drivable though. All of the electrics work - window lifts, electric locks, radio, lights, turn signals - albeit the window lifts are not as fast as new. It has a nice Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD player. There is a one inch lift on the left rear spring because it has some sag in it - it is now level. It could use a new set of springs, but doesn't have to have them. The windshield has few miles on it, the original one cracked one hot day when I sprayed it off, and insurance replaced it. Tires are 31x10.5x15 BF Goodrich Radial All Terrain TA. They have some miles left, but I think 80% of the tread is used. The liftgate window is slow to lift on cold days. This is typical of old liftgate Suburbans. Shortly after purchase, I replaced the (not quite) automatic hubs with manual hubs. The AC works, but is R134. Return it to R12, and it will be a refrigerator. Winner makes a non-refundable $200 PayPal deposit within 48 hours and then has about a week to come pick it up and pay the remainder in cash.On Mar-15-12 at 13:31:42 PDT, seller added the following information: I just remembered that the liftgate helper torque spring broke 5 or 6 years ago, so it takes some muscle to drop and lift the liftgate. I did live in Oxnard, worked by the beach at Point Mugu, and surfed all over the place - so it has some rust-rash. I used Permatex and Rustoleum to arrest its progress. Since I moved to the desert, it all quit. I don't think there is any rust cancer, just rash here and there. You can see it in some of the pictures. The bushings on the left front leaf spring went bad and allowed the axel to move fwd and aft when applying steering forces. It made driving wild when hitting puddles. I replaced both bushings and that tightened the steering up quite a bit. I have all of the other bushings, just didn't install them. On Mar-19-12 at 09:14:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Tranny is 700R4 Automatic. On Mar-19-12 at 10:12:22 PDT, seller added the following information: I'm getting a lot of the same questions... THE ENGINE RUNS GREAT. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS LIKE IT WAS REBUILT A FEW THOUSAND MILES AGO - WHICH IT WAS. OTHERWISE, IT DRIVES LIKE AN OLD TRUCK - WHICH IS WHAT IT IS - THERE IS SOME SLOP IN THE STEERING AND THE SPRINGS ARE SOFT. BTW, I have a construction crew fixing things on my house. There is interest in this Suburban. So you may be bidding against somebody who's bid you can't see.
