Vehicle Detail
2007 Ford Escape AWD This has been our second car for a couple of years and it's been great. It was used from new until we bought it by a company in Phoenix which delivered medical supplies around the southwest so it amassed a lot of highway miles early on. We are the 2nd owner and have been very pleased with it and have had no major problems. It has a 6 disc CD player that works great. I play homemade CD's with all our favorite MP3 files on it. It is All-Wheel-Drive, which means that it's front drive until the system senses that 4-wheel-drive is needed, at which point the 4x4 is engaged, That system works great on muddy roads, it's all automatic, you just drive it. It has running boards, a roof rack and a Class-III trailer hitch. We have towed a small ATV trailer with it a few times and the V6 engine hardly knows it's back there. It has cruise control, air bags, alloy wheels and all of the goodies of the XLT so you can do some research and figure all that out. Everything works! The body is in excellent condition - no dents or major scrapes. The paint is still glossy. The interior is good. There are a few minor stains and the console armrest has a small tear about the size of a nickel. We had a chipped windshield and so last year we had a new windshield installed. The air conditioning works very well and blows cold air although we have had some vibration when running the fan on #4 (highest) speed, but that comes and goes. Speeds #1 thru #3 have always worked fine. I don't know what else to say, it's just a good dependable car. We just bought 2 new cars and this one has been sitting for 3 months, so we decided to part with it. We have always changed the oil/filter every 4000 miles. We installed a new battery last fall. It always starts easy. Okay, I just want a fair price, not a windfall, but not a ripoff. So here's what I've found out: The Kelly Blue Book used car value for this car, according to conditions are: Excellent = $9,430 Good = $8940 Fair = $8590 Poor = $7415 The eBay completed sales lists: "Just sold on eBay Motors: $6,051-$20,000" "Kelly Blue Book Value: $14,450-$18,320" [but I assume those are retail prices] I believe this car is good or better than average condition, so the proper price would be about $9,000. But I know eBay'ers are looking for deals and I want to sell this car. I've looked at the competing cars listed now on eBay and at all my research and so I'm guessing that $8000 is an extremely fair Buy-It-Now price. I'll set a starting price of $6500 just to ward off the used car dealers and bottom feeders. There's NO RESERVE but in my experience the last 5 minutes of the auction will bring the price into reason. Please send me a message if you have any questions and I'll reply ASAP. Don't ask for delivery. Make sure you'll be able to pick it up if you win. This is a used car and is sold as-is from a private seller. I have a 100% positive eBay rating. Thanks for your interest! p.s. I just saw the Experian Report. I was unaware that there had been a reported accident when the car was 2 weeks old. I have looked all over the car and can find no evidence of any damage or repairs except that the driver's side mirror appears to be very slightly different than other '07 Escapes (see photos). We've driven it for about 15K miles with zero problems. On Mar-16-12 at 15:19:50 PDT, seller added the following information:As of 5 minutes ago all of the other 2007 Escapes on eBay have bids that are as high or higher than my Buy-It-Now price or except the one with a B.I.N. of $13,980 I urge you to click the "Research 2007 Ford Escape" near the very top of my listing throughout the auction period to keep updated. You won't find a better deal on a good Escape than mine.On Mar-24-12 at 08:00:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I was asked about the Experian report. I don't know their criteria but I can guess that 2 owners versus 1 significantly lowers the score. Also, if there are more than 12,000 miles per year on the odometer, that probably also lowers the score. The fact that we are the second owner didn't bother us when we bought it because we knew about the first owner: that it was a commercial company who, probably, professionally maintained their vehicles and they put on huge highway mileage very quickly. We all know that highway miles are much easier on a car than city driving. As to the reported accident: it was when the car was 2 week old! I am a former (decades ago) mechanic/machinist and I have found no evidence other than a very slightly different driver's side mirror. I can find no dings, dents, bondo, repainted areas, bumper tears or anything in the engine, tranny, wheels, etc., nothing to indicate any problem. The car drives great! With 9 hours left and 9 listed 2007 Escapes now on eBay, this one remains the best deal. There is a "Limited" in Texas for $13,980 at a dealer - whew! Nice looking, but pricey for a 2-wheel-drive. There's another Texas car with 105K miles starting at $7500 and a Buy-It-Now of $9,690 with a 4cyl. engine and 2-wheel-drive. There's a Georgia car with 127K miles starting at $7,999 and a Buy-It-Now of $10,200 with a 4cyl. engine and 2-wheel-drive.There's a California Escape with 2-wheel-drive and a replaced transmission starting at $8,500. There's another Escape here in Arizona with 2-wheel-drive with an asking price of $10,888. And 2 more at $12,900 and $13,990 as of now. All too much for eBay! There have been hundreds of views of my Escape and very many "watchers" on it right now. Being a fine car at the best deal for an '07 Escape on eBay, get your fingers limbered up and get to your keyboards this (Saturday) evening and make your bids. Happy bidding and Good luck! Daryl
