1976 Honda CB

Here is nice 1976 Honda cb550 Four motorcycle. The bike starts with electric or kick. It runs and rides like a dream! The odometer shows 24,801 original miles. The bike has just had the oil and filter changed with Shell Rotella 15w-40 which is recommended with these old honda's. The valves have also been adjusted and are in spec. The bike was professionally repainted a couple of years ago to a factory original color of Boss Maroon Metallic and it looks great! It does have a little chip on the white pin stripe as shown in the picture. I personally put a performance camshaft out of a Honda cb650 into this bike and it really improved the performance of this little four. The bike also has a Dyna performance electronic ignition on it so you will never have to adjust points ever again. The original coil wires and caps were replaced with new wires and NGK caps. I also put 2 new tires and tubes on it last year which probably only have about 1,000 miles on them. The bike has new "superbike" handlebars on it that give the bike a more sporty riding position. The seat is in excellent condition and does not have any cracks or tears but the chrome has come off in a couple small spots on the plastic trim. The exhaust on the bike is a chrome Mac 4-1 pipe is nice but does show a little bit of rust underneath.The speedometer and tachometer both work but the tach is not accurate because of the performance camshaft. This can be fixed by putting a tachometer on there off of a Honda cb650 or cb750 on there that has the right gearing. It never bothered me so I never changed it.The head gasket does weep a little oil but and is a common problem with these 550's. It does not affect the performance of the bike. It has done it from the day I bought it 6 years ago and does not appear to be getting worse.The bike is in great condition but it is not a museum piece. It is 36 years old and it shows a little bit of rust here and there on some of the chrome. I do not have the tool kit or manual. I have a clean and clear title in hand.
