BUG CONVERTIBLE !! ***** 88 ADDITIONAL PICTURES BELOW DESCRIPTION **This Classic little 1961 Volkswagen Bug Convertible is a real find ! I believe it is a nice value at the price we have it listed at ! Cars like this were quite a novelty in their day to say the least but now, in this kind of shape ? What a find! The Bug enthusiast should be pleased to own this BEAUTY. This is a car we bought from a friends sister that bought it over 10 years ago in LA and her and her Mom drove it up from California through Las Vegas and probibly havent driven it that far in the last 10 years since she got the car here in Idaho, it was always kept in her garage and she is just traveling all the time so she sold it to us. The odometer reads 38,602 miles however true miles are unknown, just look at this thing though !! This is a DRY California - Idaho vehicle !!The car has what appears to be a 1.6 liter VW four cylinder motor in it, the owner told us it didnt have many miles since it was rebuilt, but with these VWs after not being driven for a couple of years we had to have our mechanic take the engine out and replace the rings. At that time they replaced all the gaskets, and push-rod tubes and honned the cylnders and checked the valves. It has a four speed manual gearbox. It has been upgraded to the new "ball joint" suspention in the front and it drives great. It also has been converted to 12 volt electrical system. and has new brakes and master cylnder. I have driven this car for 200 miles over the last six days as my everyday driver to and from the office and running errands as needed and it runs and drives GREAT !! I tried the heater and defroster and it worked great. The over 10 year old dark blue metallic exterior paint is EYE POPPING BEAUTIFUL and is really a pretty color showing some cracks and chips and imperfections, but is still bright and shiny and looks GREAT as you can see in the pictures. It is over 10 years old but is showing no signs of any rust under the paint. The original chrome, stainless and glass are also in nice condition including the chrome front and rear bumpers. The black convertible top is also in NICE condition (one small repair over the back window) as is the white headliner. The interior is also in VERY NICE condition with VERY NICE white front bucket seats, VERY NICE white rear bench seat, nice original mat material and carpeting, good original steering wheel, nice door panels and a nice dash and speedometer cluster. This Bug Convertible is nicely equipped including a nice Blaupunkt Am Fm stereo CD and chrome exterior mirror. This is a quality car, nice and tight. It is a really COOL little vehicle. The radial tires are like new and check out the stock wheels and hubcaps it really gives it that classic bug look. I looked underneath and also included photos below. This is a nice DRY Idaho collector vehicle and it has plenty of good looks to boot! This Classic little 1961 Volkswagen Bug Convertible is a real find ! I believe it is a nice value at the price we have it listed at ! Cars like this were quite a novelty in their day to say the least but now, in this kind of shape ? What a find! The Bug enthusiast should be pleased to own this BEAUTY. This is a car we bought from a friends sister that bought it over 10 years ago in LA and her and her Mom drove it up from California through Las Vegas and probibly havent driven it that far in the last 10 years since she got the car here in Idaho, it was always kept in her garage and she is just traveling all the time so she sold it to us. The odometer reads 38,602 miles however true miles are unknown, just look at this thing though !! This is a DRY California - Idaho vehicle !!
The car has what appears to be a 1.6 liter VW four cylinder motor in it, the owner told us it didnt have many miles since it was rebuilt, but with these VWs after not being driven for a couple of years we had to have our mechanic take the engine out and replace the rings. At that time they replaced all the gaskets, and push-rod tubes and honned the cylnders and checked the valves. It has a four speed manual gearbox. It has been upgraded to the new "ball joint" suspention in the front and it drives great. It also has been converted to 12 volt electrical system. and has new brakes and master cylnder. I have driven this car for 200 miles over the last six days as my everyday driver to and from the office and running errands as needed and it runs and drives GREAT !! I tried the heater and defroster and it worked great. The over 10 year old dark blue metallic exterior paint is EYE POPPING BEAUTIFUL and is really a pretty color showing some cracks and chips and imperfections, but is still bright and shiny and looks GREAT as you can see in the pictures. It is over 10 years old but is showing no signs of any rust under the paint. The original chrome, stainless and glass are also in nice condition including the chrome front and rear bumpers. The black convertible top is also in NICE condition (one small repair over the back window) as is the white headliner. The interior is also in VERY NICE condition with VERY NICE white front bucket seats, VERY NICE white rear bench seat, nice original mat material and carpeting, good original steering wheel, nice door panels and a nice dash and speedometer cluster. This Bug Convertible is nicely equipped including a nice Blaupunkt Am Fm stereo CD and chrome exterior mirror. This is a quality car, nice and tight. It is a really COOL little vehicle. The radial tires are like new and check out the stock wheels and hubcaps it really gives it that classic bug look. I looked underneath and also included photos below. This is a nice DRY Idaho collector vehicle and it has plenty of good looks to boot!
