Vehicle Detail
1969 Volkswagon Beetle. Modified several years ago to race on the drag strip. Was a toy for a few years then sat in storage for a few years. Currently all is left is a beautiful body mounted on a rolling pan, and a few parts as seen in the pictures, and that is what is for sale, no engine no transaxle, no interior, no guages. The body like I said is beautiful, it is straight, no dings, dents or rust, but it did pick up a few blemishes while in storage but they are nothing serious and should be easy to touch up or buff out. The car is painted light silver metallic with lighter silver metallic ghost flames that run from the hood latch wrapping around the side and almost reach the rear fenders. The flames are hard to see in the pictures but they are there. The paint is base coat clear coat. The body has been modified to include some Cal-Look features, new steel shaved front fenders with chrome nerf bars, stock style 3" wider fiberglass rear fenders to accomodate wider tires and 39 Ford tail lights with real glass lens, extended hinges on the deck lid to accomodate more engine and a stainless steel fire wall in front of the engine. All of the welt was also replaced between the fenders and the body. All of the glass is excellent, the front, rear, and quarter glass all have new gaskets along with the doors. The running boards are new. The dash is fiberglass. The tires on the car are nothing to brag about but the two rears are 6.60-15 Racemaster wrinkle wall slicks. The body is being sold with a bill of sale only, I do not have a title. So if you have good pan and a good title and do not want to deal with the body and paint work just bolt this body onto your pan and you are off to the races, cruise night or where ever you want to go. I have tried to decribe this little Beetle to the best of my ability but have probably missed something that you would like to know, if so just ask. If you are close enough to inspect the car in person prior to the end of the auction again just ask and arrangements will be made. The winning bidder will not be disappointed in this purchase, the reserve is set very reasonable for what it is and remember that paint jobs like this and ghost flames are not cheap. This car is sold "as is where is" and the buyer will be responsible for all transportation cost if required. Thanks for looking and good luck in the bidding.
