1960 Austin Healy Bug Eye – with 44,993 original miles Ground up Restoration I have an antiquity company in the middle of Texas. We specialize in fine antiques and collectibles. Once in a while my customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle. This is one of those items:Almost everything in the car is new. From every screw, bolt, rubber, glass, paint, and mechanical. Please refer to the restoration pictures in the ad for a better understanding. We received this beautiful absolutely rust free Texas car which was sitting in a dry garage at my customer’s home for 24 years. Due to the fact that it had very low original miles we decided to send it out for a ground up restoration, and since the engine and transmission was almost like brand new, they restored everything except the engine and transmission. Everything has been worked on, and when necessary, replaced with new parts. Basically all the mechanical parts have been reworked. Everything from all the rubbers, glass, carpet, wiring, lights, paint, brakes and clutch parts to lenses have been replaced with new parts from Moss. We have all the receipts and the pictures of restoration. The car has less than 5 miles on it after restoration. It is a Texas car and comes with a clear Texas title. The cost of all the parts and the labor is well over 15k. Actually, I stopped counting after it passed 15k. I am going to list some of the items that were replaced: Complete paint job from frame all the way to the rest of the car with pics. All the receipts go with the car. We even have a work shop repair manual on CD that will go to the new owner. The car is perfect, but it is not a hundred point car yet. It has been painted but the paint is not 100 point paint job, if you want the car to be absolutely perfect the hood area has to be redone to perfection, and even though we have a convertible top mechanism, we have not purchased the convertible top cover yet. I want to leave something for the new owner to do in order to appreciate this museum piece. Please come and see it in person. We can deliver to a reasonable distance in Texas for a reasonable cost. All the inspections must be done before the auction closes. Remember that this classic AH is 52 years old. Please remember that things always look better in pictures.
