Vehicle Detail

Rare car up for bid. It is a 1964 Mercury Marauder 2dr Fastback with a factory Mercury 427 Dual quad motor. The car started out as a 390 4 barrel and had a 427 out of a '65 Mercury swapped in. These are getting very hard to come by in this condition and the motor alone is becoming one of the most desirable Ford motors ever made. The 427 is a true cast iron header, cross bolted 427 with dual quads. The water pump and fuel pump were recently replaced. It starts up and runs great. I took a video with my cell phone and uploaded it to youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQsxUcFrAac&feature=youtu.be Sorry for the wind noise, I had the window open a little and didn't realize my cell phone would pick up that much volume. The car is a lot quieter in real life. Has tons of power on command but would also make a great cruiser. I had it out on the highway today and was enjoying the 70 mph smooth ride. The trans was upgraded to a C6 automatic and shifts just like it should. The front end is nice and tight and with all new components. The body is in good shape and was repainted at some point in years past before I got it. Minimal bondo was used and the paint job was decent but not perfect. There are a few minor bubbles in the paint (not from rust) but overall would make a great driver or entry into the weekend car shows. The hubcaps are factory Mercury and one of the rear is missing the center spinner. The tires are 15" and have good tread left on them and there is a spare in the trunk. Brakes work good, car has factory a/c and heat. The driver's side window doesn't quite line up like it should but isn't offensive driving down the road. No rust that I have found on the car. The gauges all work as does the speedometer and odometer. The interior is quite nice and was redone in the past as well. It is a very comfortable car to sit in and drive with plenty of room for 5 adults. Clear title in my possession will be given once payment in full has been made. Please don't play games and only bid to win and to own! $200 paypal deposit due within 48 hours and full payment due in cash in person within 7days unless other arrangements are made with me prior to auction end. ANY other forms of payment must fully clear before the car or title will be released. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! This will sell with NO RESERVE to the high bidder so have fun and bid to win! On Feb-29-12 at 11:15:19 PST, seller added the following information: I figured I would upload a video showing the car starting and driving down the road, stopping, shifting in and out of park, etc. http://youtu.be/K6ESGJ3VY8c On Mar-01-12 at 06:48:09 PST, seller added the following information: I read the casting numbers off the heads today. It is stamped C3AE 6090H with a big "H" in between them.
