Up for sale is an '87 F-150 XLT Lariat trim powered by a rebuilt (I'm told) V8-302 5.0L automatic engine. This truck is RWD and has a bedliner. This truck was purchased used in 2001 after being used as a work truck. Needless to say, the interior cloth seats, while intact, were filthy. I've immediately covered this over with a sturdy after-market seat cover. I've only put on about 11,000 miles in the 11 years of ownership. I'll get straight to the bottom line. She runs well and is generally rust-free. Just so you and I know, I undertook an official Maryland inspection which it (not surprisingly) did not pass. Maryland inspection is an absolute pass or fail. So here is what didn't pass:brake warning lamp in the dash didn't lightboth headlight assemblies need to be replaced; the headlight adjusters were also seizedwipers didn't return to the park positionboth engine mounts failedthere is a small hole in passenger side floor that needs a patch weldthe horn doesn't workthe gear shift indicator doesn't worklastly the air injection tube to the converter failedThe other 72 inspection checks on the list passed! In my state, this vehicle qualifies for historic registration status and doesn't need to even be inspected to be registered and tagged.Here are a few other things that never have worked: A/Cfuel gauge for the front tank (this truck as dual tanks)temperature gauge Lastly, the rod that connects the left side of the tailgate mechanism to the gate handle broke at the gate handle, so the gate will not drop.New on the vehicle are: Pioneer 2-speaker AM/FM/CD playerP235/75 S15 tires with 40,000 mile warrantyrear window with sliderfront windshield hoses and belts The body is in very good shape except that the clearcoat is nearly all gone.
